Damn slugssss, this is the 1001th time I trust them, and they always fool me, first my oxygen and now my engines. Don't trust them, they WILL sabotage your ship... and when you are about to get revenge they will turn on their damn FTL drive and all you will hear is a laughing SSSSSssSSssSsSsSS. They might surrender, promis you everything and they will gift you 3 fuel, wauw... 3 fuels. Those slugs are some damn creeps, kill on sight. Captain signing off.

if you want to be sure there is a site(well tons of sites) that do stardates from a specific date, here one

FTL more often ends with a defeat so if you can figure out why you ended up in a disaster it should help your next game. You can beef up your defense with better shields obviously but also quicker engines. Better evasion means fewer hits on the shields and higher chance a missile will... erm, miss. Your FTL drive recharges faster too, making tactical and totally honorable retreats faster. Some ships you just dont wanna tangle with.

The Slugs? I never liked them... A little more trustworthy than the Engi, though, of course. Of course their psychic ability could be a potential threat...
