Sudden Resolution Problem out of nowhere?

So, my computer was working with FTL nicely besides 1024x768 resolution that I had. I just used 'fullscreen - stretch' and the monitor actually forced FTL into squeezing. Sure, the game was kinda squished but it was playable. Even the text was quite readable and generally, all was neat and I was content.

However today, I started up FTL again and the fullscreen is... weird.

It's basically centered on the half of the game and cuts about 1/4 of both left and right side. It also shows this pop-up box that informs me my resolution is too low, but I never got that window nor any problems before.

Help?

EDIT: Oh right, hello, I'm new to the forums :3

Do you use Steam? A new version of the game has been published, this may explain the change.

Can you post the settings.ini, stdout.txt and stderr.txt that you can find in the FTL game directory?

Yes, I use Steam version. It was working okay until today.

And sure, gimme a moment to find that stuff.

Got settings.ini and stdout.txt, but there's no stderr.txt in FTL folder.

settings.ini:
fullscreen=1
music=100
sound=100
altpause=1
dialog_keys=1
showpaths=0
lowend=1
logging=1
ach_pop=1
vsync=0
framelimit=0

#Manual resolution choices - overrides anything in the options
#Set manual to 1 and then change the resolution
#Does not check if values are valid. Use with caution.
#If you do support GL_ARB_framebuffer_object, "stretched" will not function
manual=0
screen_x=0
screen_y=0
windowed=0
stretched=0
stdout.txt:
Initializing Video
Video Initialized
Opengl version = 2.1.8545 Release
Starting audio library...
Audio Initialized!
Resource Preload: 41320
Initializing animations...
Animations Initialized!
Loading Ship Blueprints....
Blueprints Loaded!
Initializing Sound Data....

Running Game!
EDITEDITEDIT:
Got 'partial success' with these settings:
manual=1
screen_x=1024
screen_y=768
windowed=1
stretched=0
With those, it runs in a window and cuts off maybe 1/8 of both sides (piece of left background and just 2-3 letters of main menu buttons). Still, it doesn't comfort to my small resolution.

Did you try with stretched=1?

Yes. Window explodes into default FTL resolution so I have to move the window around to see anything, and that's not acceptable...

EDIT: And when I set it to 'windowed=0' it just goes fullscreen and stretches beyond my resolution, not actually paying attention if it's 'stretched=0' or 'stretched=1'. FTL just simply ignores that one.

Hello Haspen! Sorry about the troubles.

If the game functioned acceptably for you before the patch, I'd recommend you delete any settings you've recently made in settings.ini (or just set manual to 0), and then run the game and set it to "Fullscreen - FTL Native Resolution." That should then set the game to behave identically to how it was working in the previous "Fullscreen - Stretch". Given how thorough you've been on experimenting so far, you might have already tried that. But I thought I'd point out the "official" solution. Let me know if that doesn't work, because I put that setting in specifically for the people who were content with the previous methods.

Nope, doesn't work for me. I've actually checked out all the available settings.

Here is what I can make out of them: Click here.

Also if it matters - vsync was off during the 'test'.
