Boarding objective on ipad

The bug with this not activating on killing 4 enemies is killer.
Has anyone got this on ipad? I haven't managed to kill FIVE with the boarding robot (I've heard that's the problem, it's bugged and wants 5 not 4 kills)
Does anyone know the exact criteria?
I've made sure the boarding unit is on board BEFORE I teleport over to help out. (and I make sure it gets the final blow)
The only thing I can think of, is a very very ion heavy ship and i keep their healing or clone unit offline and somehow weaken every single enemy unit down, then send the boarding unit over (without any teleporting)
