First Node Immunity

Can't there be a First Node Immunity in the next patch?

I mean let the first jump be a little forgiving or at least program sector 1 to start at a branch where 2 are good and 1 is bad so there's at least a chance of avoiding an instant restart?

In one of my games on the Vortex I could only jump to 1 node and it happened to be a Nebula with a guy who had mind control who hypnotized the only engi at the helm.
Sometimes it's instantly 50% hull on my very first jump.

:(

Ah the classic FJZCWMCAM (First Jump Zoltan Cruiser With Mind Control And Missiles) or the FJASWMCASFH (First Jump Automated Ship With Mind Control And Solar Flare Hazard). The bane of both unarmed boarding ships and ships with low firepower/crew.

I'm afraid the only solution is to restart and try again. FTL is meant to be unforgiving like that. In fact, when given a choice for your first jump the immediate nodes are probably exactly as you said - 2 "good" (this includes a ship you can easily defeat) and 1 bad, unless there is only one choice in front of you.

I just realized this game is called 'FTL' because... that's how fast you're gonna get ripped apart by ZOLTANS!!!!

All you'd do is push the death-dealing Zoltan or oddly 3-weaponed scout ship to the 2nd jump.

I'd rather die in the first jump than the second one. Restarting is faster.
