Finally Beat it with an Unlocked Ship! *Spoilers*

The Rockman ship specifically. I've done it with the Engi, Stealth and Fed Cruisers, but always had really rotten lock with the Rockman ship.
This time I found some fire weapons early on and oh man...I took the advice of some of you forum-goers and used the rockman's immunity to fire offensively...it felt kind of like I was cheating.
So thank you, all of you who ever suggested that
