Big black box on modded ships

So I downloaded some mods for FTL, mostly ships. Whenever I have "show rooms" on my ship though (as in, whenever I can see my ship's interior) there's just a big black box where the ship would be. All the rooms are there, but the custom ship graphics are all just black boxes.

Help? This is really annoying me.

On some computers, a perfectly blank (and transparent) image shows up as a black box. I don't know why. It's very likely the "floor" image.

Extract the "Hull" image from the mod (It's just a zip. You can rename it and open it with winzip) and then put it back in named the same as the "Floor" image. That should clear it up.

The "floor" will look exactly like the "hull" but as the floor is drawn on top of the hull and the mod author wanted the floor image to be an empty transparent layer, in-game the ship will be exactly what they made.

Where is this .zip file of the hull you speak of? I can't find it in the FTL folder.

Ug. Windows.

The ftl "folder" is actually a file. It's compressed in ZIP format. It just has an FTL extension instead of a ZIP extension.

So you're already looking in the zip file when you're looking in the ftl folder :)

This black box thing shouldn't be an issue anymore now that Advance Edition is out. The black box was caused by the stretching of transparent (blank) images, which is caused when the images were the incorrect size. The game no longer stretches images now, but uses offsets to position everything. All ship mods that had a properly sized cloak image now have to redo their cloaks because of this new offset business.

@5thHorseman: You're going to need a new signature. ;)
