My biggest problem with the FTL game (and the reason why I just stopped playing after ~4 hours) was that there were too few events--I kept seeing the same stuff over and over again. That lack of variety really hurt what would otherwise have been an almost perfect game for me.

So I'm pretty happy today to learn that there's going to be an Enhanced Edition with lots of new content, including new events. But is there a figure for how many new events will be added? Either in terms of numbers or percentages? IE will there be only a few new events, or twice as many new events, etc., etc.

There's no exact figure on Advanced Edition, but most of the new stuff has been gone over pretty thoroughly in this thread. As noted, there's a new race called the Lanius, so you can expect at least one new sector featuring Lanius-related events. Beyond that... well, we'll just have to wait and see.
