AI / Cyborg / Drones

I would like to have some kind of Drone based playable ship.
And perhaps some new race of cyborgs for it.
I like to see a ship that has the following.
Starting Crew: 1~2 Human/Cyborg?
Starting Augmentations:
Drone Recovery Arm
Slots: 2 Weapon, 4 Drone
or even:
Slots: 1 Weapon, 5 Drone
but that might be to hard
And that you mainly will have to work with drones.
Anybody else thinks this would be a great added fun to the game?

no more like if more people think this would be a great addition to the game in future updates.
I really hate having to use mods all the time anyways. And currently all mods do is replace the ships currently available. Which is no good.
So far I only used the infinite mod. (I'm more a sandbox player

)
But I am just missing a more drone based ship in this game. besides the 3weap-3drone engi ship.

You are grossly underestimating how crative modders became. Give mods more of a chance before establishing an opinion.
Check here for a few favorites (for good reason), and browse the
Master Mod List. Most of the mods are custom ships granted, but there's also total conversions, visual and sfx mods and even custom ships sometimes drastically alter the game.
As for your suggestion, i find such drone based ships unflexible and less fun to play. FTL is pretty random and if a ship is too specialised it can either struggle an awful lot, or become very OP and boring. Even if it fits somewhere in the middle there's usually only one way to win every fight so it's less interesting. Drone slots aren't too much of an issue because of power demand, but being restricted to 2 or fewer weapons hurts gameplay. That's probably the reason there haven't been too many such ships.

Ultra is right, while my mods probably will not appeal to you, you should check out Captain's Edition, all the graphical mods, descent into darkness, and the SM Polish kit, at the very least.

Engi are described as being more mechanical than organic, therefore cyborgs.
The Engi A ship starts with drone control, an anti-ship drone, and an Ion Blast II. It also has the most drone slots of any playable ship and the least weapon slots. It's viable to use it as primarily a drone ship - in fact, that's the best way to use it.

I wouldn't mind seeing a playable A.I. ship. No cyborg crew. No crew at all. Just an A.I. ship. It might need an augmentation created for it. Maybe Automated Piloting. It would mean you don't need to man the pilot station to jump and dodge rate would be something less than if you had a crewman manning piloting. The challenges would be that you can't man systems, you don't get crew so no teleporter, your ship would auto-repair system damage unless there's a breach which would make weapons that can cause a breach incredibly dangerous, there would also be a number of options unavailable like trying to fight giant spiders or really anything that requires a crewman. I think the only real advantage you'd get is that you wouldn't need to power O2 systems which also means boarders would be teleporting into a ship without any O2. Could be frustratingly fun IMO.
