What would be the best method...A pattern drawn on the dots? Like * , + , ? , # , or something?

They may be able to use more input and advice on this matter. I have seen another game that is working on a similar issue and they haven't gotten it right yet , do to not having enough of the right input I think.......

For people how find it hard to read an option to read out the text would be good as well, but that would take a lot of time to perfect.

I was just watching the start of PlumpHelmetPunk's "let's play" series on FTL, and noticed that he had trouble distinguishing between civilian and hostile sectors as well. I am not color-blind myself, but I know that color-blindness (especially red-green) is quite common, so I would like to see this addressed.

Perhaps making the circles slightly larger and (optionally?) placing C, H and N symbols in them as appropriate would be a good idea.
