New ships

What is main advantage of new ships? If i will use new ship enemies will have new ships too.
It is possible to explore sector to 100% before than i have to fight with enemis? I had to escape because they have 2 shieds and i have only one at the begining.I am afraid of things what i possibly missed.
- How can i unlock The Kesler Type B?
- When i can get more supplies?If i will destroy enemy ships or if i will accept the surrender?

No, enemies don't really use new ships if you use another ship. There is no advantage of another ship layout. It simply offers another playstyle. meaning a slightly different way to play the game.
No, you can not explore 100% of a sector, not unless you come across 2-3 mercenaries and pay them to delay the rebel fleet. I don't think it's possible to come across so many mercenaries in the same sector though.
In the hangar you can see 3 achievements for the currently selected ship. If you complete any two out of those three you will unlock type B for that ship.

I noticed that after destroying the enemy you get more scrap but less fuel, missiles and drone parts.... or is it just me? Can someone else confirm this, please

Less scrap and more othr stuff for surrenders, more scrap less stuff for destructing the ship
Most scrap (and stuff?) for killing the crew but leaving the ship intact.
