I'm sorry, but that was the easiest run of FTL I've ever had.

That weapon is so completely OP that every battle was an instant win, including the flagship. The only 'challenges' were asteroids, solar flares, drones, boarding crews and the one and only volley that stealth ships were able to fire off. With all the scrap I got from near-instantly destroying every single enemy ship, maxing engines, fortifying systems and stuffing the ship with crew to deal with the rare occasions I took any damage was easy. By the time I hit the flagship, I had upgraded all the systems, accumulated 8 crew, and purchased all the reactor power because
why not? And only one person ever leveled a skill: The mantis on the weapons system, who had weapons level 1. (I was leveling the starting human in repair, but then I got an engi so I didn't bother.)
Make no mistake though, I am an expert at FTL. I knew how to micro my crew to deal with the earlier encounters before I got engines up and etc., and it was a fun experience using this crazy ship (otherwise I wouldn't have taken it all the way to the flagship). But this ship is not a challenging ship. The harder ships for FTL, (such as the Stealth ships,) leave you more vulnerable to bad luck, (no shields,) but still make it possible for the player to beat the odds. (The stealth system.) If you had given this ship a weaker weapon, or one that didn't fire so fast, it would have been nearly impossible to go far, let alone beat the flagship. The complete lack of any defense at the beginning is a death sentence that I only overcame because I was able to prevent almost all enemies from firing even once. Without that, it would have been entirely up to extreme luck to survive long enough to have decent engine dodge, and that's just not fun.
