Does manning the Engines speed your FTL drive?

Question in the title, does manning the engine room make your FTL drive charge faster? It kinda seems to, but that might just be me.

The only listed bonus is +dodge afaik. Manning the pilot system speeds up FTL charge though. (as it stops if you don't have a pilot :P )

Can someone in the beta mouseover the piloting skill and see if more advanced pilots speed up the FTL recharge speed even faster? I assume this is the case.

I've always assumed it did. I've noticed that upgrading your engines increases your evades and FTL charge rate, so it stands to reason that manning your engines, which clearly increases evade, would also increase FTL charge rate.

Come to think of it, the engine post is very similar to the pilot post, with a few key differences:
  • You don't have to man the engines to charge the FTL, but you *do* need to have somebody in the pilot seat.
  • You can upgrade the pilot seat to be self-piloting, while upgrading the engines increases actual performance.

Mousing over crew members engine and piloting skill shows "+5/+7/+10 evasion" no change to FTL charge listed.
Mousing over the onscreen engines shows : "Charges the FTL drive and powers evasion. Manning increases dodge chance" (Status: -Fully powered. -Manned by crew)
Mousing over the onscreen piloting shows: "Requires a crew member to evade in combat or jump" (Status: Fully powered. -Manned by crew.)
Mousing over the engines in the ship upgrade screen shows: "Powers the FTL drive and allows the ship to dodge. Upgrading improves your dodge chance and the rate that your FTL drive charges" + a list of dodge chance and FTL charge rate for all lvls
Mousing over the piloting in the ship upgrade screen shows: "Allows the ship to make FTL jumps and dodge when piloted. Upgrading add auto-pilot that allows some evasion even without a pilot" (rank 2 gives you 1/4 dodge provided by engines (+ engine crew? + stealth?) rank 3 gives you 1/2 dodge provided by other sources.)

The only listed source for FTL charge speed up is engine upgrades. Crew skill and piloting upgrades does not affect the FTL charge as far as I can tell.

when I did this both my pilot and engine guy was rank 2.
