(Suggestion) Behaviour when an area is being repaired

As far as I can tell, if a system is being repaired when it is hit it does not suffer any damage. The crewman and hull do, but the system doesn't seem to.

I would suggest that damage to a system should be applied whether it is being repaired or not. One could also suggest that anyone involved in repairing at the time receives more damage - if they're lying under a console that discharges or get crushed from debris while in a jeffries tube then they're more likely to be hurt more.

Seems very complicated and probably not that balanced or fun :?

It's a bit frustrating, but I think it's a necessary check to the player - AI doesn't know how to time its attacks so has less chance to do serious damage to the player's systems, and when they do they usually don't focus on them continuously. Plus this will only make it easier for whoever first got a hit on the opponent's system and a continuous hell for the side that get hit. Not necessarily a good thing.

My two cents.
