Hi,
This is my first post and I'm sorry if this has been answered before(didn't find it on first three pages).
So the question is: How many games did it take you to beat the game on easy/normal?
I'm in my 7th playthrough(easy) and so far I got to the final battle once in the 5th game with engi ship(two ions and some drones - I suffocated almost all the enemies on my way). I thought I've already won the game when taking down the mother ship, but to my surprise it was only a first step and in the second round(drones), I failed due to hull damage.
I'm just asking to know how many more games should I expect before I finally beat it. I know it's always a matter of chance, but I still haven't mastered some aspects of the game. For example on my last game I bought the teleporter for the first time, but I accidentally destroyed the other ship with my away team still on board
So I need some more experience, but I can't afford to spend hundreds of hours with the game, I just want to beat it

You're doing quite well in my book. In my first playthrough I died very quickly. In my second, I got the achievement for making it to sector 5 without upgrading systems, which was how I learned you could upgrade systems. In my 26th playthrough (I remember because I looked when it was over) I beat the final boss.

I've played hundreds of games since then and still lose my fair share. I also am still learning tactics that are making me a better player.

I finally finished easy on my 11th playthrough. Transporter almost seems like cheating against the final boss though
Now to the normal with federation cruiser

Actually compared to the rest of the game, just fighting the final boss is cheating. 100% knowledge of what you're going to face, 7 sectors before you'll be there. The rest of the game is a surprise every jump. The final boss is (once you've got it down) actually kind of boring.

There's still a lot of luck with dodging, especially in Part 2. But yeah the foreknowledge is pretty good for planning

So I've finished normal in 13th game with rock ship and now I'm about to finish again with federation cruiser. Looks like with a bit of a training, winning is no more a problem. So hopefully I'll get rid off my addiction on this great game

In my defence I do like to play the game drunk, and I never spoiler'd/looked up anything.

Turns out I felt too OP when I got there. Dual Reload Aug.s, 3x BL2s, Artemis, 2x boarding teams (Rock/Mantis).
I'd been up all night drinking too, before the boss fight. Two boss fights in one morning!
