Oh man.

So when this game game out I played the HECK out of it and I loved every minute. I haven't played for several months, and recently settled back in to try some normal...and I am getting RUINED. Seriously I have had some defeats so embarrassing all I can do is laugh at myself :p

It's possible the game got harder in my absence, but I think I'm just out of practice.

What about you guys? Do you find that time away from the game makes it harder to play on your return? Or do you not really have that issue?

I've played FTL at LEAST once a week since I started back in... February*? And usually I play once a day.

So no, I've not experienced these "breaks" of which you speak

And I don't think the game has gotten harder per se, but some minor things have changed. Like you don't get shield skill for them coming back up any more, only going down. And you can't upgrade your ship in an asteroid field. But nothing that you're likely to notice if you're just playing and not trying to eke every single bit out of the game

*I just checked. I bought the game in DECEMBER! Holy cow why can't I stop playing this game?

I picked the game back up a couple of weeks ago after not touching it for a few months. Didn't notice much of a difference, but I was playing the OP 4-person teleporter ships, so that probably accounts for any rustiness in my play!

Of course I did have the usual number of false starts and failed attempts, but those are swept under the carpet.

My FTL broke for some time (Dont ask me what happened) for about 4 months, when it got better though I played on normal and completed the game with the Fedoration cruiser. I think its just pot luck that you had.

I've taken frequent breaks from the game and I too come back rusty. The worst thing is you know what you were capable of (especially in terms of multi-tasking) so get yourself in over your head.
