I payed the docking bay the scrap for my new noether. she was a beaut. i hired 2 people other than myself, who were also Zoltans. We piled on the ship, with dorris and wilson manning controls, while i piloted. we set off to see waht we could find in space. i jumped to a beacon, looking for the closest way to get to the exit, for i really wanted to explore new territory. i found a space station and it seemed all it's crew were dead. despite this, we docked and looked around. suddenly, two human intruders beamed on deck! they took out our shields and part of our weapons before my men could finally kill them. we backed away from the station and jumped out of there.
A few nice, quiet jumps followed. i bought some food rations from a trader, and i jumped out of the sector. this sector was Zoltan, and since i knew my Zoltan sectors well, i decided to also find the shortest route. i was traveling and came across another trader, who i then traded my rations to in order to earn a bit of a profit. plus, i also hired a mantis crew member. the next sector seemed-at first glance-to have an auto-scout. "no problem," i said. but then, two massive weapon carrying arms started coming out the top. IT WAS AN AUTO TURRET! thankfully, it wasn't very well armed. we disabled it's weapons and then sliced it wide open. we traveled on, and we found a Zoltan security ship following a Mantis ship. i decided not to interfere, but i could tell Amanda (our mantis crew member) wasn't very happy. the next place we transported to had a hostile Zoltan ship waiting for us...or any other ship that fell into his trap first. i managed to get some good hits on him. but then, he hit us at the door control, and a fire started. i couldn't open the airlock right next to it because the door control was busted. I sent amanda to fix it. she wasn't doing to well with it. she was on her last legs, just about to die. then, the ship rocked again. a fire started in the medical bay. i directed all power to weapons and eventually, it fell to pieces. i sent my two Zoltans to go fix the medbay, because the fire was spreading fast. REAL fast. i had to pull them out of there before they died.the shield room and medbay were both engulfed in flames. the fire back in the door control was spreading through the halls. with my entire crew about to die, i jumped to the next beacon hoping that someone would be generous enough to fix up my crew. in the next area, i saw nothing but black space. i was about to press the jump button, when a phaser gun was pointed at the back of my head. it was Dorris. "I've been spying on you the whole time. the rebels are coming to take you away right now." my eyes started looking towards the ground in sadness. "wait. think of the times we had, Dorris. think of the people who we've helped. think of how many more we CAN help." Dorris was about to call off the rebel ship, but it was already too late. it arrived with a hull repair drone and well armed. my crew was about to die, and the sad thing was that i knew it. so, i thought, what better way to go down then bringing justice as you do? i put all power on my weapons and started tearing through his shield. the fire was really starting to worry me. suddenly, out cameras went out. all i could see was the weapon room and the room to the left of it (where Amanda was standing). i pressed on anyway. we were actually putting a good dent in their weapons control. That's when the oxygen went out. the engine followed shortly. with oxygen levels decreasing alarmingly fast, we got a call from the rebel ship. "please spare us, you have shown us your superiority." i looked at my ship's condition. i looked at his. "nah. you're going down with me you little bastard. a few shots later, the laser was charged and sliced through him. the entire ship except the weapons area and the cockpit was pretty much on fire. with oxygen levels approaching 0, i walked to the weapons area. "men. you have made this a life worth living for me. a trip worth taking. and i'm sincerely sorry we had to go down this way." Wilson quickly replied, "No captain, thank you. we wouldn't have rather gone down in ANY other way."
With that. i fell to the floor.
