Anyone ever killed the whole Flagship Crew (in Phase 3)? What happens? I guess nothing would happen, but would be pretty badass if you could defeat them like that.

The ships aggressive AI comes online, it starts fixing everything that was damaged automatically. It's recommended you don't do that

I (and many others) did it on purpose once, when I without thinking took an all-ion, 4-mantis boarding party to the final battle. It's the only way to damage the ship when you can only do hull damage by destroying systems.

I lost 3 good Mantises that day.

It's actually really fun to do if you happen to have a Fire Beam or Fire Bombs. I love watching the flagship completely in flames. Just have to leave the O2 alone as long as possible.

Also leave Doors operational, so there is ittle fear of fire spreading into Oxygen.

I think that's fucking lame. Instead of being rewarded for successfully using a strategy the game provides to you, it punishes you by adding difficulty -_-

That is such a fucking stupid feature. If the ship is more efficient without a crew, why the fuck would it even have one in the first place?

Hey, the flagship has a bunch of other "surprises' that other ships don't have, why shouldn't it have one more?

And if your ship & boarders are good enough to allow you to wipe out all crew on the flagship, then how much trouble can an AI that repairs systems slowly give you?

My main strategy in the first phase is generally to kill the missile guy first, then kill all the crew in the main part of the ship, leaving the other gunners alive. To be honest, it makes the second and third phases too east, since you can just walk in and take out all their systems with impunity.

It is a little silly that leaving the last gunner alive deliberately is the best strategy, IMO.

I agree, but with a 100% predictable boss, there will always be SOME best strategy.
