Havent been able to scrounge up a confirmation on whether or not achievments initially unlocked on easy will upscale when completed on normal so that I wont forever have to carry this mark of shame. I have not paid enough attention to variations within my own list to notice, but it would ease my OCDness to know one way or another. Can anyone more experienced shed some light on this?

Yes, they upscale. You can earn the achievements on Easy and have the "on Easy" tag. Then if you complete the same achievement on normal, you will get a popup and the achievement will now read "on Normal".
