Subset Games Forum

1) All of your worst scores tend to be ships with names that aren't the default name.
2) You don't fight giant spiders.
3) Burst Laser II is a easy purchase decision.

2 and 3 are me. I've only named like 3 (of the hundreds) of ships I've played, though, because I can't be bothered.

I'd add more, but I'm coming up blank.

2) Tried once. Never done it since (because seriously, fuck giant spiders )

3) Always ^.^ Although, I think I'd buy a firebomb if given the choice...

Well... I made that first one because I had noticed that when I first got this game, it was real exciting and I named every ship and got all into it...

now like 200 games later, all my lowest scores are named ships because back when I still did that, I wasn't too good at the game!

Interestingly the only ship I ever named was "The Archeologist" which unlocked the crystal ship.

All of my named ships have the highest scores. I name all of the ships I actually intend to play a full game with, and only ever leave them unnamed if I'm just quickly testing something.

I totally agree on all three. I named ships early on, but found it easier to use the defaults to remember which was which. I still use custom names for my crew though, although I recently went in and just modified the default name list. I did spider thing a ton early on before getting disgusted with it; I think I had one good result out of a dozen or two attempts. And yes of course Burst Mk2 is the best weapon.

Giant spiders, you say? Send in the security drone (blue option yay)

4) you lost at least once by losing all your crew
5) you did open all air locks by accident
6) You get excited if you get Jean-Luc Picard as a crew member during a game.

Does surrendering (the only) crew to the slaver on the Vortex count?

I've also won once by losing all my crew.
