But I want a stand alone. I am willing to purchase another copy if I have to because this wasn't the most expensive game I've purchased but if there is a way to get a stand alone from my steam copy I'd rather save the money. Thanks!
Edit: I'm not new to forums I just couldn't find a search function but after searching more on google, I've found my same forum post. Sorry mods.

Unfortunately, there is no way to get the stand-alone version if you have bought the Steam version. If you want a refund, you have to ask Steam about it.

Haha I saw that comin. Funny part is all this debating and it on sale for 5 bux and now all of a sudden it jumped up to 10. It's cool though these guys deserve the money. I just wanted a way to play it at work on a flash drive. Oddly enough I got it working on my flash drive but for some reason on my Linux install it doesn't like to bash the FTL file. I get denied permission in terminal. I am loaded under SU and I did open the properties of the file to enable to run it as an application. I was doing some searching and found some info on Fat32 partitions and this problem. Anyone kno anything about this?

Can you copy and paste here what you typed and what errors you got?

I don't understand the problem, but it's probably just a matter of explaining a bit more.
What do you mean by "loaded under SU"? Do you mean you use the "su" command in a terminal? What do you use it for?
Also, what properties file did you open, what did you change?
Finally, I have no idea why a FAT32 partition would be a problem, but maybe with your other explanations I will understand better. I guess the game is currently on a FAT32-formatted USB stick?

I actually got it up and running. It didn't matter that it was fat32. About SU, i meant I was logged in under root. Ultimately the problem was that some of the files weren't executable so I had to go and change some permissions. I also ran into the problem of the FTL file in the root folder not scripted with the proper locations of files. So I changed that too. I really hope this helps the next person cause it took me all day at work to figure this out.
