Had a go with the stormbringer, one hell of a funky ship. Not a store in sight after sector 1, but hanging on, though gradualy getting banged up....

Got into a scrap with a mantis pirate ship, they send their two human boarders in, I send my slug and mantis in.
My boarders kill the remaining crew, the enemy boarders get suffocated on my ship..... when a final missle shot bangs my ship and blows it up..... leaving my slug and mantis, all alone on an empty mantis ship.

Game over ??? what the hell ??? My two guys got a nice ship, good to go and weapons hot!

I say - another acheivement just waiting to be added..... and for future releases a run on a ship you normally would not get

Probably a game over because the ship that was carrying the important data was destroyed. Presumably, the data was stored on the ship's main computer, which would have been incinerated in the explosion when the ship's FTL fuel went off. This is Federation standard, so that any enemies would never be able to uncover sensitive data stored on a Federation ship when it was destroyed. The only way to gain access to this data would be to board and kill the crew of the ship, and even then, Federation ships are designed to delete their stored information when the individual designated as captain is killed without any successor in place.

Well posted estar222. I would imagine security on the ship would be extra tight, considering the shifty and avaricious nature of the slugs....
