Hello guys. I've been playing this game for a few days, and I decided the meme "shut up and take my money" suits it quite well, so I went along and bought it.
Now, I want to keep it up to date, however I don't see anywhere - obvious, at least - where I could execute an update, nor does it seem to have an auto-updater. So I will assume it doesn't have an update feature.
Thus, I came along and checked this site briefly, but couldn't find an update section nor changelogs anywhere. Since I just bought it, I suppose v1.03.1 is the latest one for now. But how do I keep up with future updates?
Robert

You can find the info on the updates here:
http://www.ftlgame.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=9
At the top of the page they generally post the new changes and whatnot. Hopefully that helps!

ok, thanks vanguard.
No, chessy, I try not to use steam at all, the only exception being when I want to play dota 2. I don't know what gog is.

GOG is Good Old Games, a web sites that sells... Good Old Games, but also Indie Games. It is one of the three web sites that sells FTL (the other two being Steam, and the FTL web site, which makes use of the Humble Bundle infrastructure).
Steam has an auto-update feature. GOG has some kind of auto-update too, but I don't know it well.
The version purchased from the web site has no auto-update, but you can go back to the personal download link you were sent by email, and that page will list the publication date of the version that is available for download. Typically, you learn of a new version from the forum, check the download link to see if the new version is really available, and then download and reinstall.
Typically, the game developers first upload a new version to Steam (easier for them, and Steam offers them a way to beta test the version before pushing it to every player), and then send it to GOG and Humble Bundle a couple of days later.
By the way, the version of the game is displayed in the main menu screen, at the bottom right.

Thanks boa, your post was really helpful. I figured out that the download link would ... link to the newest version, but checking that site regularly for new updates would've been too tiresome. So I need to check the forum from time to time to see what's new.
It's ok, I guess. I probably will come here a few times a month anyway. Thanks for the info.

GoG will include an update download below the FTL download link, as well as add a NEW icon on the game cover, so you can see there's an update when you login to your account on GoG and browse your games.
