Enemy Retreat circumstances

After the update, it seems like enemies are far more likely to try to FTL out of combat if they're badly damaged. This increases the overall difficulty of the game (denying you loot when an enemy escapes), but that's fine. However, what I do find frustrating is scenarios in which you are intentionally trying not to destroy a ship (like the Zoltan Life Raft mission) and you manage to take a ship down to 1 Hull, half their systems in the red... and they still won't surrender. If it's some deal where you *must* take the ship by killing the crew, at least you might specify that in the mission description.

Hello and welcome.

The update shloud not have made any changes to the way enemies behave so it's probably a coincidence that they are running away from you so much. Same goes for surrendering. They won't surrender allways, in a recent game three straight slaver ships, not one offered to surrender and release a slave.

Taking ships intact requires that you kill the crew by suffocating, burning, Anti-Bio Beaming or good old fashioned teleporting over and clobbering.
