Can't you disable that? You can keep update notifications, but start the upgrade process yourself once you finish playing. It's in the Control Panel.

I've had that happen to me; even posted it in the bugs forum somewhere.

The bug being that FTL should resist the shutdown request when there's unsaved progress.

But no application can resist an OS order. Unless it's malware. OS is king. It's best to set the update to automatically do everything except restart the computer (or in my case, automatically do nothing untill i decide it's probably time to check updates )

This story is based on a FYFTL moment. Autoships can be way more lethal than any flagship.

Just had a moment with the rock ship, everything was running great until...

...sector 6, came across a boarding nightmare. Mantis Bomber with Hermes, 3-shot-laser and 3 shields. But that wasn't the problem. After 2 seconds a mantis tped on my ship and I thought "haha, you'll regret that". 2 seconds later, another 4 (!!!) mantis teleported into my shield room. I was like "WTF?". I dodged the first missiles with my cloak, but the mantis destroyed my 3 shields and the laser disabled the cloaking. Didn't take long and I was dust in space...

Not sure if that's a bug, but I'm ok, that an enemy can use his tp several times after a very short period of time, but 4 mantis at the same time, when the teleporter has only 2 spaces on their ship? What do you guys think? That "cheater" got me angry...

1 - Finally decided to play Slug_B for the first time— expect a unique and challenging experience ahead.
2 - Jumped half way through first sector, fighting a few unfavorable encounter here and there and it's quite refreshing— but no problems so far.
3 - ????
4 - FYFTL? .... Really, BL2 alone is nice enough already, but a Heavy MK1 on top of that!?

.... So once I get Medbay, it's yet another Kestrel_A_on_STERIOD! playthrough. So much for the 'unique' experience...

EDIT:: LOL! Jumped to the next beacon, fought battle, got another Heavy MK.1!

Sometime you get an event that sent up to 4 boarders on your ship + the usual battle with enemy ship, which can sent 2 (and rarely, 3 or even more) additional boarders aboard...

Having to chase and fight 6 mantises with a 3 rocks (minus the pilot) without door and access to airlock on Rock_B felt like trying to beat a dragster with a jar of molasses...

The Crystal cruiser..... Getting it.

22 tries since I started counting.... twenty FUCKING two and I still dont have it. Sometimes I get the pod, sometimes I even get the crystal guy, but only once did I get to the rock home world. And then guess what? The event didn't show up.

This is the most ridiculous ship to get ever in the history of anything. Losing is fun, but unbelievable achievements are not fun.
