Are there any mods that really up the difficulty in a direct manner? The old Hard/Extreme difficulty mod's links are no longer functional, and I'm not sure it would be compatible with the current patch of FTL, anyway.
I'm asking, of course, because baseline FTL is already kind of easy; even on normal, it's rare that I find myself in untenable long-term prospects and an assured loss. And, more relevant, many of the mods that add content tend to make the content incredibly unbalanced; because the whole point of adding mods is to diversify the baseline and make it more interesting, the purpose is defeated if one simply chooses not to use the overpowered offender in question (I'm looking at you, ion beams

). So... yeah, are there any mods, even in early stages of development, that make the game harder to justify using the broken additions?
