I_am_person, is the other person you're playing staying with the crew permanently? If so, I think you need to make another char sheet for her.

On another note, everyone has someone to talk to now! Targon can talk to Derk about engineering stuff and Cathos about coding. Tabitha can talk to Cathos about piloting and being a human and the three lanius can all have an O2 free party together. And arkangel and Kr can argue about the best way to kill someone.

Well, I asked dyno about it and he didn't say anything about having to make another char sheet but if it's more convenient...

"I'm voting for the mantis sector. More of a challenge that way."

"We have a basic ion cannon and gun, but we also have a mini ASB. It does what is says on the tin. Less damage, faster charge. It's not exactly perfect, but it's considerably powerful, seeing as we won't even need a single weapon once we have a teleporter, which we can get in the engi sector. We can also find out about that stasis pod in the engi sector if any good science team is willing to give it a look."

(Sorry for the short post! I'll try to make a longer post soon.)

"Well the Captain has spoken and the Captain has the biggest vote" Tabitha said, setting the FTL drive computers for the Engi Sector.
"Good thing we stocked up on food before we left. Engi food isn't the best..."

"Well, I can just eat the engi themselves." She said it in jest, but Arkangel seemed to take it at face value.

"Whoa, I don't use that much power from boarding. Let's not get drastic here." Nazia sighed, and went back to her repairs. B21 sat in his corner, secretly overhearing the conversation and not knowing how to feel about it, especially since he couldn't feel anything.

Cathos scurried over to the bridge shortly after he finished his work. He'd noticed something about their most recent jump signature, and wanted to see the thing for himself. He walked across the ship, silently noting where everybody was and where they were assigned to. When he got to the door, he slipped in, closing the door behind him. Tabitha didn't notice or didn't care, focused on preparing the ship for the next jump. After a minute or two of her preparing and him analyzing the screen, he spoke up.

"Say, does this ship have Advanced FTL Navigation?" He smirked a little as she reeled back a little, a bit confused. Almost immediately, her face calmed as a flicker of recognization sparked in her eye. He waited for her response.

Just so you know, I get a little bit annoyed when people perceive someone else's character interactions. If you don't want to be heard coming, make actions to imply it or you should have made your character as a ninja so I get the idea that he's a stealth expert or something.
Let me play my own character without putting words or actions in her mouth/body.

Tabitha heard the doors shift open and then close as she prepared the ship for the jump. Probably one of Quintet's drones coming to correct my work, she thought to herself, paying little attention to any further sounds.
When the entity spoke up however, she turned around and said "If you can do this better Quintet, I'm all... oh."
It was Cathos, the new recruit to the ship and probably higher ranked than the ensign. "I don't think we have that, sir. From what I heard, it's not a very common system equipped on combat ships. Freighters swear by it though."

That's some fancy writin right thar

Kr felt the jump start and put down the book. He went out of his quarters and went down to door control. "I hope we can find a teleporter, because door control is boring." He sat there watching doors open and closed. Kr soon fell asleep, which isn't the first time this has happened. Waking up a short time later with the jump ending, he was surprised to find more Tyλykk dialect scratched on the console. It was s single word.

Kyt

It meant "numbered." That must have been me, Kr thought, I was the only one in here...

I understand. Guess I should've consulted in PMs or something but I was in a rush and wanted something a bit more interesting rather than, "he walked in and said hi". I'll edit my post for consistency. Good thing it wasn't a major plot point.

It's amazing how simple misspelling can lace a sentence with so much unintended sarcasm.

Cathos nodded. While he did agree that it was more regularly used for transport ships, it never hurt to have one.

"Well, I happen to know how to code one and have a copy of the module as it was useful for rebounding back to places for mercenary jobs; and it might by handy in a pinch so..." he moved a figment closer and gestured at the terminal.

"May I?" After a moment of tension, he remembered that he was still new to the ship as well as what he just asked to fiddle with and quickly added, "I'll accept supervision if security's a problem."

"Hey I'm only an Ensign. My piloting skills are ironically being learned on the fly and you probably know more about these systems than I do... just don't mess with the kitchens" Tabitha said, moving aside to let Cathos tamper with the systems. "Although it only works on beacons we've already been to and since our mission is mostly linear, I can't see a reason why we'd be going back and let the Rebel Fleet catch up to us."
They could never work out that bug as to why ships can't use other ship navigation data, or so I heard. Really sucks for those freighter captains.
