I get the following analysis when I uploaded the slipstream zip and the "modman.exe" to virustotal.com
https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/682 ... /analysis/
I really want to download and install this but I'm curious as to why this file(s) would be detected as a Trojan/Java.w file.

Modman.exe is a simple launcher for the SMM Java application, so it's pretty weird that it triggered a warning at all. The only reason I can think of is that maybe the antivirus sees that the exe launches another application, so just flags it as potentially dangerous.
In any event, the only antivirus that reported the false-positive is Jiangmin, which I've never even heard of -- my brief googling indicates it has even worse opinions than Avast, so I wouldn't pay too much attention to what it says... If ESET (arguably the best state-of-the-art antivirus) says something is fine, you can trust it.
Good thing you're being sceptical, though.

Thank you for the clarification because I really want to try out these mods. I've never jear of Jiangmin either but the warning still made me hesitate. Also, thanks for recommending ESET; I'm going to try out the demo.

Seems to be a Windows-specific bug in Java, caused by how the operating system does things. Try updating Java, maybe it's been fixed in an update you haven't installed yet (though this bug has been around since 2010, I sincerely hope that your Java isn't
that ancient).
It might also be caused by your antivirus routinely scanning files, and it just coincided with SMM working on that file. In that case, just try again.
Failing all that, try restarting your PC (or Java VM) /
verifying integrity of FTL Steam cache

Could you copy and paste here the contents of modman-log.txt, after you get this error or just copy it from the console window if you launch through the modman.exe?
Other than that, is there any program running that could stop you from writing to this file (the game, steam)? You could try downloading
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sys ... 96653.aspx (Use Run process explorer, a the main download link doesn't seem to work)
And going into find>find handle or dll and search for data.dat.
@edit
Or if trying again works, that's great, too.

When i run the modman_admin.exe, it says "Impossible to find or load the principal class net.vhati.modmanager.FTLModManager".
Then it disappears really fast and nothing happens. Anyone could solve my problem ?

Make sure that the .exe file is placed in the same folder as modman.jar.

That's weird, the .jar file is included in all packages of the program... Something must be deleting it immediately once it's downloaded. Try downloading SMM through a different browser, or maybe disabling your antivirus temporarily.
