After much fiddling with uninstalling java and re-installing java I still cannot get any form of Superluminal to function for choosing systems for rooms. Damn you, Windows10!
He's working on a solution now I believe. :geek:

I've added a new release, which now uses the updated GUI library. Hopefully, this will fix the issues people have been recently having with Windows 10 -- I can't test whether this actually works, since the previous version already worked fine for me.
No other notable changes here.

I'm not sure why but the problem persists. Can't add systems to rooms.

I'm having the same problem. It was working fine until I tried to edit the Kestral, type A.


I couldn't change the room / select the clonebay to make it default.

I uninstalled Superluminal 2, to no avail. :(

Please fix this so I can continue my work on my personal mods. :D


EDIT: Just discovered I no longer have the ability to change starting crew. :cry:

There's not much I can do at the moment, I'm afraid.
I've ran the editor on a Windows 10 rig, and it worked fine (specifically Windows 10 64-bit upgraded from Windows 8, Java 8 update 66-b18 64-bit)... So now I have nothing to go by, other than that nobody has had any issues about a month or so ago.

I'll keep checking on this thread, hopefully with more reports I'll be able to figure it out.

I'm no coding genius magic man, but I will see what I can find.

EDIT: This is really strange...
I tried uninstalling all mods, no change.
Also, I recently remembered something. The thing i was editing right before the Kestral type A was the Rebel Flagship. I did not save the changes. Also, sometimes it will glitch out and put a large number of the rooms & doors in the corner. This happened when i opened the Flagship, and seems to do it randomly. Now more than ever, but it was happening before this oddity. Gonna go try verifying cache, then I'll just reinstall FTL and see how that works.

EDIT 2: Verifying didn't work, as I thought. Not gonna try reinstallation. Last thing I can do is search to see if anyone else has this problem. Google time! :ugeek:

EDIT 3: Only thing i can find is this forum and some geeky stuff that i would rather not fry my brain over looking at. Hopefully this issue can be resolved ASAP.
One last thing i just thought of. Gonna try 32 bit instead of 64...

It's probably a message like this:

could not load weapon: CRYSTAL_1: could not find animation 'crystal_shard'.
That's an error in the game's base files that the editor just happens to detect (that weapon is unused, if I recall correctly). It doesn't actually affect anything (other than that particular weapon not being available / having no graphic).

Regarding the menu problem, I seem to vaguely recall someone mentioning that there were no error messages printed to the console/log, but it still wouldn't hurt to paste contents of the log file with your report (between [ code ][ /code ] tags), maybe there actually is something in there (keep in mind that the log is wiped each time you start the program).

Alright, I will purposely try to get the effect I am going to dub "Messy Ship Bug". Once i get it i will post the editor log. And from what i observed when this issue first started is that the log does not show any errors that happen after it finishes starting up.

EDIT: Of course now it refuses to do it... And for some odd reason I have yet to try just rebooting... :lol: Gonna try it now

EDIT 2: This is getting stranger every second... After a restart, I loaded up Rebel Flagship (Undamaged Version), and it worked!.... Kinda.... I was able to change the selected system in a multi system room, but i couldnt use the "select" button.
I had to go to assign, then the system i wanted to select... I opened up Fed Cruiser Type C and had similar results. Editing starting crew is still broken, but I can do that manually without much problem...

Also, I usually run the JAR file, because for SMM i cant use the EXE files for some odd reason. This time I tried the admin EXE for SL2 and i got the above results. I have yet to open the jar.

there is the editor log.... dont think it will be much help due to the lack of information...

YET ANOTHER EDIT: I just remembered something that could be the case! recently my computer updated. I had and still have 2.1.2b. i had windows 10, but it updated. from my terrible shirt term memory, i think the problems began AFTER i updated windows 10. you might need to do another update... :roll:

THIS DOES NOT REGARD MY RECENT ISSUES


I love this editor. It is amazing (until the "issues", but still pretty great).

If possible, could you make editors for other things too? Like maybe weapons? (Yeah I know I'm lazy :lol: )
