EDIT: BTW, I finally has a look at the wiki page about the weapon modifiers. You need to add some named "Legendary" weapons to the game as well for EL. That would be awesome.

Edit: @ people woundering about the future of FTL in terms of patches/ expansions or anything like that.

Well Justin Ma did say on an interview that he finds the FTL modders very inspirational and loves the mods that tries to stick with the flavour of the game and art style (ie Captains Edition) and very weird and odd stuff (ie say Kieves Obsidian cruisers black hole bomb. or the banana ship.) etc. (he even mentioned CE as a cool mod).

He also stated that they might come back to FTL if they miss working on it.

ZipperDragon durring this stream interview (thanks zippy!) brought up the old lists and stuff in the xml for stuff like augments that never got added. Like the augment that brings crew back to your ship if the enemy ship dies, jumps away, or you do. Justin stated that those were just a few ideas that never got followed up but during that interview he thought about it and said that it wouldn't be to hard to do it. There are other augments and such that isn't that hard to do either that could possibly make an appearance.

I am not saying it is 100% certain for a future update, But these feelings off being not finished or could add some stuff was the same that eventually lead to AE.

There is a small chance of a future thing. But not anytime in the next year or so.

(also this interview I am referring to was post AE)

So just keep in mind it isn't 100% impossible... picture it like the game itself. It's a rogue like-like. You may feel you may lose the run then HOLY CRAP! you got a new weapon floating in space. Now you're set.


You know the biggest thing I am wondering isn't if they make another patch or not. The biggest thing on my mind is if I email Justin to let me have (and possibly use in a mod :roll: but having it is more cool) the older pictures off ships and stuff would it work?

(there was 3 ships from a possibly alien race that is not in game. It kinda look like a lanius mix rockman)
(there was also a different colour scheme for slug ships)
(different look in general for rebel ships)
(A civilian space station)
(some early sketches)

Another thing that interview told me is that Justin Likes mods. (feels weird playing them at times and see what other people have done with what he and matt made) and does play and test them.

I actually feel nervous if justin played any of my ships... I feel like none of the public released ships are up to standard.

Hey Raven, thats good news.

@Sleeper, it is my fault or did I miss something here. The shields have an extra upgrade but not for a full fifth layer? is it a buffer layer?

Oh, and I've been meaning to ask you this:
The event on the final sector where if you beat a ship the text afterwards says something along the lines of :
"We're busy setting up a new repair station..."
That's not a CE event is it?
Because it is broken, no new repair beacon shows up...
Just a random idea but I think the reason no new repair beacon appears is due to the fact they are still setting it up.
Ya know. Kinda hard to make a fully new Military Repair station in a matter of days.

That repair beacon is a vanilla event, which worked before AE.

Just so you know I have updated the Vanilla Portraits Patch based on the new changes you added to crew customization. At the moment it simply reverts crew customization back to its limits in CE 1.264 so it removes basically all of Gencool's new stuff. I will slowly be adding some of the new layers and colors in to the patch though.

Yeah, I'm not entirely sure if that one might ever be fixed. Might remove it altogether than. The event was supposed to spawn a visible repair station and I assumed that works cause it existed in vanilla.

Yeah, lvl ten did not work out due to UI glitches, but I left lvl nine in to allow gaining a buffer bar. I probably should mention that in the description.

Those a definitely possible, but then again there are already some drones that seem to appear of very little use to the player (mostly the ligth lasers drones). The neural stunner drone could not differ much from the Flashbang drone anyway. Another Ion drone would be neat, but the game probably could rather use some more hight tier ion drones. The ion stunner drone would losse much of the advantage of stun weapons, cause you can't control what it stuns.

I will if I think of anything good, but I'm not as creative as you when it comes to naming things. I would follow the same kind of style as the artillery weapon namings.


EDIT: Also, I said I would be messing around with some of the new customization options for the crew. The humans are of course the hardest to get right because we know what humans are supposed to look like, unlike aliens. You opened up the possibilities a little bit more by making humans humanoids, so they are more like aliens, but still... a few layers look weird when paired with each other. For example, pink blue or grey people with normal hair colors, or even black people with blonde hair (That last one being the fault of the way the sprites are drawn, its hard tell the difference between their hair and their head with those colors).

Would it be possible to add a separate layer for the alien humanoids that overrides the previous layer's both skin and hair to prevent weird combinations? I tried doing this and it seemed to work, but the game never made any female humanoids... I don't understand why.

as for the names, I will pinch in with a name, the Morgan Laser. Military laser version but with extra coils and heatsinks.

extra points if someone can identify where I got this from :)
