Read this post (response to Spanky), as well as the post linked therein. Where it tells you to redownload SMM, obviously get the newest version of the manager, not 1.4.

Well Following those instructions I have received the following message in Command Prompt:
"Error occurred during initialization of VM
java/lang/NoClassDefFoundError: java/lang/Object"

Any idea what that means?

This indicates a problem with your entire Java installation; you'll need to reinstall Java.

I have the same problem, I don't think slipstream works for 7 and higher.

The console says that the error occured during the initialization of the VM (the program that runs Java applications), and that you're missing java.lang.Object, which is the most basic class of the entire Java language. This is a pretty clear indicator of who the culprit is, since there's absolutely no way a Java program like SMM can mess those things up (since it's not even running yet at that point).

Some links:

https://geekycoder.wordpress.com/2009/0 ... ion-of-vm/
+ Google "java/lang/NoClassDefFoundError: java/lang/Object windows 7"

TL;DR: improper installations (w/o admin rights or by extracting java), missing rt.jar file

Hi there,

the Slipstream Mod Manager 1.6 works fine for me, I downloaded the USS Enterprise and, a little graphics problem apart, everything works well except one thing... ONE OF MY CREW MEMBER DISAPPEARED! :o

I sent "Manon" to repair the oxigen system and, while he was passing through the ship left arm he disappeared in the void!!!! :( ...see the image! Someone has any clue on how to rescue him?

That's a problem with the mod, not SMM.

This thing works freakin well. All my mods are in wait and I can play Vanilla and quickly swap them when I want. Only problem is that the Obsidian Cruiser mod won't unload, I wanted to impress some people that I defeated the flagship with the Vortex, not Retrobution :P.
