[FTL RP, WE'RE BACK, REBOOTED!] The Rogue Cadets

Jake met the others at the port airlock and proceeded onto the new ship. The first question was always "Where are the doors?" Jake explained the forcefield door system. He went around explaining the other systems, and the respective crewmen who would man those systems were especially impressed. The evasion on the engines, the firepower on the weapons, the new Purple Shield technology in the Shields room.

When they got to the Sensor room, the super-advanced short range sensors were explained. The others were blown away how these sensors could detect faults in enemies, and that the sensors had their OWN WEAPON (The Fault Beam) which could tear apart these faults if targeted correctly. Jake realized that someone would need to man these advanced sensors - someone who could be very precise. Either that or Sarah would have to do it.

Jake was wondering if those who obviously showed doubt that this ship was from the future were starting to belive him. Jake took the crew to a meeting in the medbay.

"Sarah!" He shouted into the walls. Suddenly, the AI herself appeared, standing next to Jake. "This is Sarah, the ships' AI. She's not like other AIs, she has her own emotions, thoughts, and ideas. She inhabits this ship, and can control it when she needs to. If any of you have issues with your stations, I'm sure you can ask her. Did I miss anything?"

Sarah smiled slightly. "Yes, I'm willing to help you at any time. Whatever you need. But please remember that I'm not just a machine, I have thoughts and feelings too." She glanced at Jake, still recalling what happened before. Jake shrunk back a little. "I also use the Ships telepathic systems to interface directly with the minds of the crew, to get a better understanding. Please don't be embarrassed or unnerved by this, my mind reading is involuntary, and I promise I won't judge or share your internal thoughts or emotions. Just call when you need me, or just if you want someone to talk to. I get lonely too, sometimes!" She waited for others to ask her questions, about the ship or herself.

So when Sarah gets a body will it be a sexy Fem bot one like EDI LOL, but yeah I like this world building we are doing, a time line, how society works outside of combat, and the interaction. I like this sorta thing in RPs ^_^

Lux said "Huh, Captain Awesome once went to a place like this. A Zoltan merchant then tried to offer Blibbles to the bartender and the whole place was overrun with the adorable things."
She laughed "They of course reacted badly to the Mantis and they were vital in uncovering a plot to sabotage the life support systems, so I guess it all worked out."

Once the ship docked and the airlocks had cycled and clearance codes exchanged, Lux grabbed her weapons and headed out into the spacepor. The smile on her face was rather wide "Woah... this is way more impressive."
A few Slugs slithered past carrying chains behind them - a bunch of almost-naked Humans were being pulled behind them.
"Lookin' for a good time, Human?" came a gruff voice behind the doctor.
A Rockman wearing a few thin strips of fabric around the chest and waist stood there, a Slug dressed in a fancy fur coat and top hat nearby, twirling a jewelled cane.
"Once you go Rock, you'll want his c..."
"Excuse me... but I don't think she is interested" a man said, stepping towards the Slug.

He was dressed like a typical pirate of the high seas of Earth back in the 17th century. However his coat appeared to have been crudely stitched-together out of Human skin. It was a vibrant red in colour, possibly due to the genetic engineering of the people it was made from. The same went for his tricorner hat - it was made of flesh from Humans who had engineered themselves to make sure they were shrouded in darkness at night.
He gave Lux a smile, showing that all his teeth were the pointed canine teeth for tearing apart meat. It was obvious that this man was some sort of cannibal.
The Slug and the Rockman quickly vacated away from the crew as the cannibal looked at the Robin. "I haven't seen a ship like that in a long time..."

He then looked at Lux "I think you and I have something we need to discuss at a tavern or mess hall, Luxanna Jensen, formerly of the Federation Academy, now rogue space pirate..."
"Tell it to us here" Lux said, trying to keep her smile "I'm sure we'd all like to know what the crazy cannibal has in store."
"Trust me, you'll want it to be a private matter. Especially when it concerns the Pelican" the cannibal laughed, walking away.

Lux looked to the others "No idea what that was all about but I get the feeling that's not the last I've seen of him..."

"Maybe" Bren said observing everything, Ruwen had elected to stay on board, given he had no idea about the world, and given the description of this place he would rather not go even if he knew how society worked now.

"So Lux you wanna see if our slug captives have a bounty on them or even a base one?" he asked, "Might be a generic one just for slavers, some slavers like to have a bounty on rivals. I'm gonna go find a guy to improve our systems and install our new weapons. Might sell the pike beam to help pay for it. if Ruwen was right about what that weapon he brought with him, we will certainly have an advantage in up coming fights" he said

Well ghee, thanks. Now I'm imagining a Slug in a fur coat with a jeweled cane... And I can't stop thinking about it... I never knew Slugs had so much class... Oh great, now I'm imagining a rockmen... yikes... Haha!

"My neurological interface is technological, not biological. It's not like Slug mind reading - much more like Mind Control Technology. Wait... does that exist yet?" Sarah asked. The others looked at her, blankly. "I guess not. But my telepathic abilities extend only as far as the Ships internal sensors, because they are reliant on the Ships hardware, of course. Also, I should point out that I can't leave the ship - my program is running on the ships main computer, and my Holographic Avatar is generated by internal Holographic Emitters around the ship. Unless someone were to transfer me using an SD Card or something, I can't leave."

While Sarah answered questions, Jake contacted the Robin. "This is Captain Jake Collins to the Robin A. Robin A, is it safe for us to jump to your location? Over."

Bren was still on the ship checking the amount of scrap they had to offer when he got the message, "Yes, it is, however the code phrase changed, when asked the question you answer, "The Zoltan is paying but in jolts' he said, "when ya arrive hopefully you will end up at our hanger dock" he said

Jake was having trouble programming the super-advanced Nav computer. Suddenly, the controls locked, and Jake watched on the screen as the computer did it for him. He leaned back in his chair, smiling. "Thanks, Sarah!" he shouted into the empty room. There was no reply. She's probably busy helping other incompetent crew members, like me. These systems are so over-complicated. Jake thought.

They jumped to the pirate station, and a Rock cruiser lumbered up to them. It hailed Jake.

"State your business.." a rough looking man said on the monitor. "Um... We're buying drinks, but the Zoltans will pay... with volts... or watts..." Jake said, nervously. The man chuckled. "Close enough. Proceed to docking port..." Suddenly, the transmission was interrupted by a Mantis fighter, blaring an audio signal on all frequencies. "Small hooman! That's a fine ship you've got - don't mind if we procure it..." The Mantis cut transmission and began firing.

Jake wanted to look friendly, so he had ordered shields and weapons offline. He got on the comms. "Shields up! Evasive maneuvers! Bring all weapons online!"

The 2 shield bubbles quickly arose, followed by the Purple Shield, slowly charging up to full. However, it was too late. The first of the Mantis's shots hit the ship. The other two were blocked by the two normal shield bubbles. Before the Mantis's weapons recharged, the Purple Shield had charged up, to full power. Their defenses were up, with minimal damage. But the Mantis was powering up a very scary looking missile weapon. The huge missile fired, and (luckily) violently exploded against the purple shield barrier. The missile was so strong that it took out half of the Purple Shields energy.

An in-space nuclear weapon! They've been illegal since the Federation/Mantis conflict! Jake thought in dismay.

To Jake's horror, a Rock vessel hailed the Mantis ship, and Jake tapped into the transmission. "That ship is ours, Mantis scum!" The Rock vessel said to the Mantis Fighter. Then, a massive Slug ship joined the conversation. "Both of you are wrong, this ship belongs to me!"

All three ships were firing upon Jake, and he watched as the Purple Shield rapidly depleted. It held out longer than I expected, but it's gone now! Jake thought as the Purple Shield vanished.

"Guys, I need those weapons online. NOW!" Jake shouted into the comms.

"You three are in vololation of our stations rules...prepare to die!"

And Jake could see all the missiles batteries on their ships fired, it must have fired 12 missiles at once, and so quickly, 3 missiles hit each ship right on their engines, weapons, and shields

And now all three captains were panicking begging for their lives.

"Human head to the port, we will take care of these fools. Tell them you were attacked and we will give you a reasonable discount on the repairs. Tell them Captain Obsidian sent you" he said smirking

(yeah there is a reason you don't fuck with them. for the record his ship would have basically top tier multi-missiles with auto reloaders, explosive replicators and weapon pre-ignitors, their artillery is also missiles. Yeah the bouncers take this job seriously)
