Huh. Apparently the editor crashes if you open the Ship Browser before changing the archives.
Just make sure not to open the Ship Browser (Load Ship...) if you plan on changing the archives, for now.

Well, either way I think I've fixed it - download the 15-4-13 from the root Superluminal dropbox directory and see if it still crashes

I just installed the editor and encountered similar problems. I always get the first run widow for specifying the directory and it crashes after I click "browse" for the resource file. Error persists with 15-4-13.

Might also be caused because I run this on in Ubuntu with Wine. A would totally love a standalone version of the editor for Linux.

You have to include the appropriate files in Superluminal's unpacked archives. You can either do everything by hand, or (easier way) create your mod, use GMM to load it, and then unpack the archives again in Superluminal.

Yeah, it might be it -- frankly, you're the first user that I know that is using Linux. So far I didn't bother with supplying Linux version, since no one seemed to be using it...
I suppose I'll need some help in order to make the editor work properly for linux. For now, would you mind uploading superluminal's crash.log file here?

I dont get an error dump when I run the editor in Wine, but I get one when I execute the superluminal_win32.jar with Java Platform SE Binary. I cant imaging how much work it would take to create Lunux support but as said, Id totally dig it! I allready sprited about ten different stations for this and getting a windows install just for FTL modding seems a little overkill to me.

Given that I have no knowledge about Linux whatsoever, I'll just make another jar using Linux libs instead of windows ones. Download it here. Run it without the windows emulator, we'll see how it goes -- in the meantime, I'll try to get a Linux VM up and running.
