The contrast in quality is disgusting. I really need to work on my art skills...

Don't worry, this post isn't purely to whine about my lack of abilities to make art from the ground up. I also wanted to suggest an ion missile weapon, I don't remember seeing one before and it may be interesting.

Did someone want more weapon mods?

Lucky for you all this year I will barely make any ship mods and have a whole ton of weapons coming up and in mind!

As i did with the "GO BALLISTICS!" weapon pack and the up coming "GAUSS WHAT?!" update, GB 1.2 (btw, want to be in closed beta? PM me! adds 3 gauss rifles and 3 coil guns).

I will also make a bunch of other weapon packs. at first I will make separate packs that are themed on 1 weapon type.

Each type will be...


Ballistics "GO BALLISTIC!"
Autocannons, Ultra Autocannons, Rotary Autocannons, LB-X Autocannons (shot gun), Gauss rifle, Rail Gun, Coil gun, Hyper Assault Gauss rifle (Gauss shotgun), Machine guns, machine gun arrays. and more...

Missile [unknown pack name]
Cruise missile, bomblet dispenser, cluster missile, ??? missile, swarm missiles, hyper velocity missiles, etc.

Lasers and beams "Rave on!"
Chemical lasers (named after Stone age weapons instead of medieval) , electronegative lasers, Blazer (Binary Laser), 1 shield pen lasers (named after japanese swords instead of european), pulse lasers...
... ion beam, wave blasts,

Energy/ electricity "ec-static" [electric static?]
[censored for now, will be surprise!] gun, Particle Projection Cannon, Anion blast, plasma blasts, more ion blast variations, more anti-drone drones. More stun weapons. and more more!

Explosives "Bombs away!" & "Mine-ing my own business"

unknown currently, but plans are being formed as we speak!

Some of the above weapons will get there large 4 energy expensive weapon with some draw backs but will be big guns and such, this will be it's own pack after I'm finished with the above.

Rare/ exotic/ etc...
Using unknown, high tech, or extreme stuff that can be expensive... and I do not only mean scrap. These will be the unknown curiosities so to say... only able to be received in a battle. Don't expect this any time soon.





[???] = special race in game. spoiling this as for those who do not know about it I do not want to spoil (it's censored for spoiling on most places ie wiki and such, so I will censor it here as keeping others in mind)

So yea, sounds fun- no? ATM nearly done with the ballistics mod, I am not sure what I will do next but I kinda want to do the energy / electricity one next, however I require sound files and I am no expert with it. Help could be appreciated. But besides that; I may go with the explosive or lasers next as most are already behind the scenes nearly done.

Also note: I will try to make uber specific weapons in FTL. such as Gas launchers and Gas powered lasers (Slug), Some form of gun that fires basicly a larger version of what mantis use for range. (Mantis), Rock launchers and stuff gathered near the asteroid field (rock), etc...

Funny how you started with autocannons and now you're on gauss weapons, and I started with gauss weapons and now I'm just doing whatever people ask me to do.

And then this guy walks up, puts the rest of us to shame.

But it wouldn't be me without some criticism in spite of my inability to match what I'm saying.

Interesting style for the effects. The autocannon ones are sort of basic, but by comparison the gauss/coil/particle weapons are pretty elaborate. I find it funny how the rule of cool often takes precedent over anything logical both here and elsewhere, as your magnets are apparently glowing. But FTL isn't the place for such an argument - it has visible beams and lasers from Star Wars. Nice 'lightning' effect. No further comments there. Those green lights on the PPCs seem overdone to me, just a bit. The only other thing is that the gauss sprites have a color that really stands out as out of place - just because it's an extreme contrast (very dark) compared to the rest of the sprite, and only occurs in one small area.

Most of my weapons are inspired or vague mirrors of weapons from battletech / mechwarrior.
Basicly this weapon is to counter the poor effectiveness of the gauss rifle at close range and improve it's anti aircraft/ aerospace fighter/ small space ships and infantry work while provide more damage over the gauss rifle (the sum of the multiple mini guass shells approximately causes more damage). simplistic numbers = gauss is 15 damage, HAG is 20 damage. But at mid range+ it spreads a bit and at long range it is worse then the standard gauss rifle.

In my mod, the Guass rifle has one of the worst DPS in vanila game, the exchange is for much higher velocity, high breach chance, 1 shield piercing, and blue events to engage the enemy and such at range.
HAG in my mod will be worse at range and could possibly harm the 'friendly' ship or base you tried to protect in the first place causing an enemy out of someone you did not want.
HAG will also have worse accuracy as according and slightly lower velocity but better anti personal work.

Concept of "Sniper-shot guns" isn't that silly. they exist irl and are rather common on anti missile or anti aircraft roles (however most older ones are used for anti infantry work- which is banned atm. if it wasn't you could probably see a lot more "Sniper shot guns" in use today possibly.

But my case is specifically aimed and the destruction of systems.

All these new weapons are making me want to expand on my weapon mod. I think I'm gonna try to get every C&C faction up to three weapons. I already finished the art for the third Nod weapon:
