Lux was in another section of the ship, running her scanner over where the lifesign readings were getting closer. Then she found it... a large shard of crystalline rock embedded in the wall. "Bren, Kyrie, I've found the source of the lifesigns... it looks to be some sort of pod" she said "It's stuck in the wall... but it looks like it can be detached and carried by a Rockman over their shoulders. Lifesigns seem to be... in stasis."
It looks like whoever was flying this ship put themselves into stasis to await rescue, she thought to herself, reading the inscription on the front of the pod. She had to sweep off the crystalline dust to see a bunch of symbols. She sent a picture back to the Robin "Maybe a Rockman at the pirate station knows what they mean. Because I'm certain it doesn't mean a double rainbow"

Plot twist, the Crystal's name isn't Ruwen but Double Rainbow.

"Huh weird..." He said, "Hmmm well try to get the pod into the ship, I'll see if I can figure what it is, so what does person inside look like, a rockman?" he asked

(also no his name is Ruwen)

However the moment Lux touched the pod, something happened...it shattered...or rather the front began to crack. Whatever this was, it was now awakening, a cold gust of air escaped the pod as the front shattered away and a large figure made of crystal fell forward landing on its "knees"

It looked up and tilted it's head at the new arrival, and spoke, its tone low, but almost like a rockman's accent, but it had a slightly higher pitch, the language however didn't seem like rockmen, not even a different dialect

As the pod began to break and crack, Lux stood back as crystalline dust filled the air and a figure started to emerge from the pod.
"Woah, take it easy there big guy" she said, slowly approaching the entity as it fell to its knees.
"Bren... Kyrie... I think we've got First Contact with a new form of life..."

The ship started to rumble. "Kyrie... did you accidentally activate something?"

From what I understand about the event, the pod doesn't have an intact Crystal. The Zoltan Research Facility activates the pod and those fragments come together. Sort of like a Clone Bay pod before Clone Bays were a thing.

(I decided this event should change a bit....LOL, BTW I edited the front post...sorry LOL)

Kyrie approached the pike beam to examine it further and noticed another weapon nearby. Or something that looks like a weapon. The strange object had the same coupling to attach as the pike beam, but the front end was a large pointed crystal. It felt like the same crystal as the walls of the ship.

Just then Lux came over the comms, saying she had found a new form of life. "New life?! I'm coming right now." Kyrie ran back the way she came, following open doors to Lux. She entered the room breathing hard, then saw the crystal figure kneeling in front of Lux. "Uh... Hi?"

It moved away shaking its head...it almost looked...afraid....

It kept saying things, on repeat. As if it was trying to comunicate.

At least it wasn't hostile.

"Um whats going on, I can hear it? Is it hostile?" Bren asked

The crystal being looked at the two almost expecting something, a response, confirmation? What?

"This must be some form of Rockman..." Lux remarked, the scanner running over it. "I think the Rockmen take on the properties of the planet's materials they consume..."
When I watched Captain Awesome, the aliens all understood Human languages and facial expressions, she thought, But dad said that wasn't true - To a Mantis, raising your hands in surrender meant an attack position... Rockmen assumed the same thing when you hold your shoulder to indicate injury.
"Kyrie, any idea on how we can establish communications?" Lux asked "Besides the use of math... I'm not sure if it even counts in Base 10"

Since the Rockmen are not entirely understood, like the Engies, Lux assumes Rockmen eat rocks. That could be true or maybe the Rockmen tend to eat food that is hardy and built for tough climates and gives Humans the impression that they are eating rocks.

"Well, what's a rockman greeting? I think I've seen some hit their heads together, but that was before a fight." She paused to think a moment. "What if we showed it rockman language?"
