Even with your own personal touch your hulls seem to fit into the FTL universe pretty well. I prefer that touch, it's nice to have something a little different from the usual.

What? I actually helped?
I mean...
Glad to be of service! I kinda had that problem with one of the new bits on my ship too. which, by the way, I think is as done as it's ever going to get with only me working on it. I threw some shading on just to see how it would look and it made all the difference (though I'm still not completely satisfied with it). I'll probably keep making changes when I get it into the working mods section. I'm just waiting to get permission from someone to use a small portion of their art as part of the hull.

It seems your private messages are disabled..? Or at least, i couldn't find a way to PM you. ·_· If you want we could talk about your hull via PMs! I can probably help you with something!

What the heck? I tried to PM you, did you get it? I guess it doesn't really matter any more since the hull is in the working mods section.

And also...

Rough draft of a ship...

I need some help, actually. The dark grey section towards the back, with the light green circle around it? That's supposed to be greebles. But I cannot, for the life of me, figure out any greebles that look nice for it. Could someone help me with greebling that section?

..I also can't figure out how to make the armor plates (light grey) look like not a piece of shit. But that's a question for another time.
Are you still planning on finishing this thing NarnKar? I'd be happy to help implement some more of the changes Taxi suggested.

Yeah, I'm still gonna finish that thing. I'd prefer to go about it by myself, though.

@Chrono: I got the message, but i can't reply! So I tried adding you as the recipient for a new message, but it said "Some users couldn’t be added as they have disabled private message receipt." o_o It seems there's an option for this in the control panel. It's in Board preferences > Edit global settings > Allow users to send you private messages. That must be it!

I swear I'm not an idiot...
Sorry about that. It should be working now.

Anyways, I think I'm going to do a ship that's a little easier to make artistically before I start the Scrin project. I was going to do the forgotten until I figured out someone already recolored the crystal ship green, so by process of elimination Nod's ship is the next on the list.

I decided to throw together some rough concept art. I'll be using the hull of the stealth cruiser and the colors of the rock B. The cockpit is going to look a lot more like Montauk when it's done, and I will of course be including more custom weapons (definitely the obelisk).

Nice work on the Stealth B recolor so far. (I'm sensing that the module at the front is just a freehand sketch, so I won't comment on that.)

Just FYI, the Scrin might not work so well for FTL? It's a mostly round ship with a massive front spire sticking out of it (which dwarves the size of the main body, even!), and it's being put into a game that demands many rectangular rooms...either you're going to have to make the main body massive to accommodate all those rooms, or you're going to have to cram some rooms into the spire sticking out on the right of it?

I dunno, I don't see it working, but try anyway; it's a cool ship and I'd like to be proven wrong on this one.

After the Kodiak and the Ion Cannon, I can't wait to blast the Rebels and pirates with the Obelisk of Light. Although is it going to be a focus beam or more like the Tiberium Wars obelisk when encountering infantry?

I know it's not possible to have the distinctive hum as the gun charges up though, but it must be in there somehow. It can't be the Obelisk of Light if it just makes the zapping noise. That's more of the Obelisk of Darkness or something :D

As I keep suggesting, the Lanius ships might be the best bet on how to create Scrin vessels. Lots of spikes on both sides :D

I've gotten a little bit more detail done for the Nod cruiser:

Image

The new room art is supposed to be an imitation of the Nod stealth generator. I think the cloak image is going to end up being red instead of blue to fit the color scheme. I'm not sure about implementing the Montauk-style cockpit anymore, I'd like a second opinion on that one.

I'm not really concerned about dimensions, I'll find some way to make it work. It may end up being pretty big, but so was the Kodiak!

I'll add in some filler frames between the charged frame and the fire frame, that should give the hum and the zap enough time.

I'm not sure the Lanius bits would go anywhere on the first Scrin ship. Maybe on one of the ones EA came up with, but I don't plan on using any of those.

But the TS Scrin Ship was built by Kane! So technically it's another Nod ship!

And what's wrong with C&C 3 anyway? Was it Operation Stiletto? Yeah it was that blasted level wasn't it?
Or it's because you want to keep to a Tiberian Sun theme, so no Scrin, just GDI, Nod and the Forgotten.
