DOES "SMM/backup/" exist? (it should, but worth asking anyhow)

Are you double-clicking modman.command? (don't click the jar)
I've heard some Linux users had issues with that: the *.command script not finding the SMM folder, so it wouldn't find "./backup/" either.
See if the attached replacement helps.

Otherwise you'll have to use a terminal...
  • "cd /to/the/location/of/SMM/"
  • "./modman.command"

I've been using the .jar because the .command will literally not launch through anything. Not even using the terminal not that I know much about it).

I had the same problem. You can drop the .command file into the terminal window and press enter, that will launch the file in the terminal. It worked for me ever since.

Doesn't work, just opens it in GEdit, and I can't even change it to open in terminal...

EDIT: Thought I pushed enter but it actually opens it automatically in GEdit! So I closed that, went back to terminal and pushed enter and voila! It worked!

I installed the Mod Manager and attempted to patch both the Beginning Scrap Advantage and the Engi Scrap Advantage. The progress bar got about halfway through before telling me there was an error: "java.lang.NegativeArraySizeException" and stopping. FTL crashes upon loading after this and I need to redownload a fresh copy of the game files before it works again.
I've tried patching only one of either mods a number of times but no combination seems to work. Every time I try I get the "java.lang.NegativeArraySizeException" error.
Any Ideas?
