"The Station is further on into the next sector, so after we get a new ship we can head over that way, did he at least tell us what kind of ship we will be provided, a Krestrel? Maybe even something by the Engi or Zoltan?" he asked his arms folded a bitEyesight Technology wrote:Jake was still shocked at the suicide of Duston. But still, Jake was the captain. And he had to act like one. He wiped away the shocked look from his face, replacing it with a blank look. An empty look. The look of a killer. Jake considered all of the options submitted by the various crewmen. They gathered together, once again, in the medbay.
"Duston's final act was to tell us where we can get a state-of-the-art Fed ship. It's the first jump from the Entry beacon in the next sector. That's three jumps, with no Fed opposition. We'll just do an auto-jump sequence directly to there. I'm done with this stupid sector.
Once there, me and Lux will find the place we need to go, to get the new ship. We'll give the Feds the code-word Duston gave us, and they'll hook us up with a brand new ship. Or at least, that's what Duston's instructions said. When we get our new ship, we'll talk about upgrades. There is no logic in upgrading this ship without knowing what we'll get from the Feds 'state of the art' ship. We might want to ditch the Robin, we'll see. But I think Bren has a point - a small fleet of multiple ships may be a smart idea.
As far as hiring new people: remember, we're just kids. I doubt that anyone would want to be employed by a bunch of teenage thieves. So that pretty much rules out hiring anyone, other than people our age who are dumb enough to accept this crazy mission," Some others in the room chuckled. "Allright, let's move. According to the Jump calculations, we'll be there in an hour if we get started now."

Re: [FTL RP, GAME BEGUN] The Rogue Cadets
"Ok Bren..." Jake thought about it a little more. "We go, get the ship, and then go to this Station you know of. Our top priority right now is getting this new ship, then we hit this station you know of... Let's hope it has something to offer. And no, all I know is that the Feds are giving us a ship - Duston told me through an SD Card, which I only looked at after his death."
1.5 hours later...
The ship rattled out of FTL in orbit around a small moon of a large gas giant. On the surface, there was a federation military base. Suddenly, from around the planet, an unidentified configuration of ship sped up to them. There was no match for it in the Robins' non-updated database. But Jake, who had payed special attention to the 'Federation Ships' unit in school, had never even slightly recalled a ship of this configuration.
It was similar to a stealth cruiser, but with some kind of electrical field shifting light away from it, slightly. Suddenly, it disappeared! The sensors couldn't get a lock! A few seconds later, it was BEHIND the Robin. Someone began speaking over the comms, Jake didn't bother to see who. "Uh... did that ship just teleport???"
"No..." Jake whispered in utter disbelief, staring at the ship now on the Aft camera. "I think... it... cloaked..." Jake had read about "cloaking technology" in a "Theoretical Tech" textbook, and he laughed at the ideas in the book. Turning an ENTIRE ship invisible? Ridiculous. But now...
"No way..." Jake muttered to himself. Suddenly, a message came in over the comms, and Jake snapped out of his trance. "Unidentified Vessel! State your name and identification. Submit a Federation Code Word, if you have one - otherwise, disable your weapons and shields immediately, and submit to questioning!"
"Oh! Uh, yes! Hi there! My name is Captain Jake Collins of the Robin A."
"The Robin A..." The person on the other end of the comm link grumbled. "What the hell?"
"Um, my code word is Collins Tully, or Tully Collins. Or something like that!" Jake said, his voice growing shrill. Jake could hear the person on the other end gasp.
"Oh! Yes! Verified... I'm sorry for the mistake, Captain. Please, power down your weapons and shields - stand by for transport to our ship. Jake went and met Lux in the medbay.
"Two to transport, in the medbay," Jake said into the comms as the shields powered down.
"Sorry sir, but only one is allowed into the Federation encampment. It's policy."
Jake switched off communications, and opened a ship wide channel. "This is Jake to all hands. Change of plans! I will go and get our new ship. The rest of you take the Robin and go to this store Bren was talking about. Get whatever supplies you need, and meet back here. Lux will be Acting Captain while I'm gone."
Lux nodded, and left the room silently.
There was a flash of light, and Jake was teleported onto the Federation ship.
We've split up! Jake is gathering the new Fed ship, while the rest of ya'll are going to the store Bren was talking about. We'll meet back at this beacon!
NOTE: I've edited this post a bunch!!! If you've read it all ready, please read it again now. I made some kinda major changes, but this is the final version!

Re: [FTL RP, GAME BEGUN] The Rogue Cadets
He shouldn't have agreed to partake in this mission. He shouldn't have saved that engi. In fact, he shouldn't have boarded this goddamned ship in the first place. 1,000 federation cruisers, all doomed, not a trace of life remained, and this was all at the hand of a single ship.Eyesight Technology wrote:The Engi slowly pulled a small SD card from his uniform pocket.
"The only file in here is an FTL Nav file. Go to the coordinates listed there. Then you'll see I'm telling the truth."
The others looked around nervously. Jake took the SD Card, and without another word walked to the piloting room. He slid the card into the appropriate slot, and opened the Nav file. Just to be sure, he did a standard virus scan before opening the file, even though virus scans on a ship this old would do nothing to any modern-day computer viruses.
Sure enough, the Nav Computer displayed a Jump beacon, just one jump away. Jake compared the beacon with the charting computer. According to the Star Chart of this sector, this beacon was marked a a defence point for Federation Military fleets. This is a Federation Military fleet...
He went down, walked straight up to the Engi, frowning angrily. "This..." He threw the tiny chip at the man sitting on the bed. "Is a beacon intended for a Federation military fleet. We go there, and we'll be arrested immediatly. Nice try." Jake started to walk away.
"If you're so skeptical, go in with me as a hostage." Duston said, eerily calm. "You get to the beacon, and signal any Federation cruisers that may arrive that you have taken me hostage."
Jake pondered this for a moment, scowling. "Everyone to their stations. We're jumping. Now. Duston, come with me to the airlock." As everyone filed out of the room, Jake escorted Duston to the airlock room, behind the engines. That way, if he somehow escaped, the people manning the engines (and above) would be able to stop him. Once Duston was in the airlock, Jake disabled the inner airlock controls, and used the outer airlock controls to shut the doors. When he went to the piloting room, he made sure that all doors were operational, so he could vent that airlock any time. Then, he activated the jump sequence. Was he really going to kill Duston? No. But if some Fed cruisers showed up, it would buy them enough time for a direct jump to the Exit beacon.
The jump completed. And there! On the scanner! Two Fed cruisers closing in! Jake was about to sound the alarm and get on the comms, when suddenly he realized that those were'nt two cruisers. They were two halves of a larger Fed ship. Split down the middle. Torn in half. The two huge chunks slowly floating away from each other. Further scans showed that there were no life signs. Uh oh! Here it comes! A Federation Dreadnought! (The largest class of ship. One in every major military fleet.) But no, it was too small to be a dreadnought. (Even though it was absolutely massive) Jake realized that is was only the front section of the massive ship. The entire back section, engines and all, was torn off, nowhere to be found. But there! To the left! A Fed scout, closing in. But this one was only the back section. The cockpit was gone... All the ships... simply pieces... ripped up and totally destroyed. No life signs at all.
Jake decided to take a wide-band scan. It took a few minutes, and all other sensors were disabled, but Jake had to see the extent of the damage. Hundreds of ships. Thousands maybe, torn to shreds like confetti. And across the entire beacon... all those thousands of ships... their ship had the only life signs. A massive Federation fleet, destroyed.
Jake stormed over to Duston in the airlock. For the first time in ages, he felt tears stream down his face. "This fleet had almost 1,000 vessels, according to my calculations. No survivors. How?"
Duston chuckled, in a sad and weary tone. A tone that said 'I know.'
'One Rebel Scout. One Rebel Scout took them all out, before jumping away - without a single hit. This is the power of black hole technology."
This is why. This is why they were hunted. This is why the rebels were so intent on destroying them. They had information, why them, WOL had no idea, what he did know, was that the federation damned their ship, if they didn't give them the data, then none of it would've happened. IF THEY DIDN'T GIVE THEM THE DATA, THEN THE OTHERS WOULDN'T HAVE DIED. WOL stayed silent. He simply stood their. Even when the others left to convene in the med bay, even when they jumped on to the next beacon, he didn't move.
He. Simply. Stood. There.

Re: [FTL RP, GAME BEGUN] The Rogue Cadets
Bren sat at pilot's quarters with Lux and company, telling her the cordients, "Now its an astroid field so you are gonna have to be careful as we get close to the station, when you are questioned, I'll say the code phrase, hopefully they didn't change it after I heard it" he said
"...having second thoughts about this mission, everyone? Once we hit the station we can drop off anyone who wants out?" he offered
"the place is a hive of scum and villiany but if ya got money or scrap you can keep yourself alive there"
Edit: ______________
"As for where we are going...well..." he pulled up the map screen pointed to a large asteroid cluster, how huge, it took up around a third of the galaxy map
"You see we have to bounce here" he said pointing to a clear node, he then pointed to two more nodes within the asteroid field, "Then we have to bounce twice here before we reach this node" he said pointing to a blank spot
"I know what you are thinking, its a blank node, don't worry, its there, offical maps don't hold these kind a of nodes, these are secret ones, used by smugglers or pirates" he said, 'Where we are going is a bit dangerous, but we stick together...and not drink anything given to us by a slimy slug bastard, we should be fine" he said
(also I do plan to have an event at the node before the Station's)

Re: [FTL RP, GAME BEGUN] The Rogue Cadets
Lux didn't know what to think. Things were happening so fast around her. Suddenly she was thrust into leadership.
She ordered Bren or someone who had knowledge of piloting to fly the ship while she... while she prepped the medbay? Checked the supplies?
"There's no backing out of this one. If the Rebellion can destroy a fleet of a thousand then nowhere is safe" she said calmly, a hand on her head. "This is so much to take in... my father would say this sort of thing is a "Do-or-die" situation... my grandfather would too."
And Captain Awesome as well, but considering his likeness comes from him and his way of thinking..., she thought to herself with a chuckle as she grabbed her blaster and her sword/spear in case something went wrong and they had to fend off boarders before getting there. It always went wrong in Captain Awesome sooner or later. Especially when it was the Giant Alien Ants

(now hold on...we need some action before we make it to the station)
Bren had taken helm ,"Now then lets see, I will admit I know a cannon more then a steering wheel but I think I can handle this ok" he said preparing to plot the course
"So last chances, who wants out?"
(also giving everyone else a chance to give thier opinion on where they are going and the plan, note I made an edit to my previous post)

I think this is a good time to decide on what rating we want on this. If the station is a "hive of scum and villainy" then to really portray that we'd probably have scenes that are pg-13 to R. Idk if that's where you guys want to take this tho.

Re: [FTL RP, GAME BEGUN] The Rogue Cadets
200th post! It's been great so far! Let's keep the adventure going!
I think this forum is appropriate for low level R stuff. Obviously not too much - but violence and a little bit of more mature themes are ok. Feel free to portray some darker themes or imagery that fall into the "low level R" category. I speak for myself, but as long as you guys keep it within reason & limitation it's fine by me! As far as I'm concerned, what Bren was saying is OK. The universe is a dark place - it's OK to describe that in your posts. Just don't go too insane.
