The blaster exploded as the enemies yelled to get out of the way. Kr pushed himself into a corner by the door as pieces of blaster and flesh flew in all directions. He looked around the door and saw one legless human and a rockman with a large hole in it. It looked like the rockman had jumped on top of the blaster as it had exploded, but he hadn't covered it fully and it had mangled the human's legs. The engi was not there. The ship's doors were upgraded, so Kr started to force one open slowly. The next room appeared to be the engine room, but the engi wasn't there either. He looked at the engine consol and it looked like the FTL drive was charging. Kr pulled up a map of the ship and saw piloting was the other way. Door control was on the way too. He started slowly making his way through doors to disable door control. Once that was done, he walked up to piloting and found the engi there requesting assistance from other ships. They appeared to have their own problems. Engis don't usually put up much of a fight, and this one was no different. Once in control of the ship, Kr scanned the ship and the area. The ship appeared to be fine, except for door control. It looked like they had stayed back and not engaged except for boarding. No one was firing or coming near, now to decide what to do next.

Upon hearing there was another ship following them, Targon obediently went to the weapon room. "I'm online and the weapons are charged, what do I hit?" He asked Tabitha, as Quintet was on the other ship. Then the Mantis frowned. I wonder where Kr is? I haven't seen him in awhile...
Targon popped up a life-sign chart and only saw himself, Tabitha, Sp, who was a brilliant green, and a small, slightly pulsing blue one next to the Zoltan. Kr wasn't on board the ship, or if he was, he was dead. Growing concerned, Targon quickly checked the camera footage from the last two hours. There was Kr, fighting a group of boarders, and then he lunged at the group and-
Oh.
"Uhh, guys... Kr is on another ship, in the beacon we just left behind."

"What?" Tabitha asked "Does that mean we have to turn around and go rescue him or do we just keep on moving and get the mission done?"
No soldier left behind and all that... she thought to herself.

As the Federation ship approached, Tabitha took a deep breath and leaned casually into her seat as if she had to speak to a police officer as to why she turned the auto-drive controls off her car while travelling on a busy hoverway.

The ship had no long range scanners and only a burst laser. I better not run into any trouble searching the surrounding beacons Kr engaged the FTL drive and arrived at the first beacon he would search. There was another ship here, appearing to be a civilian ship. It didn't hail and the drive charged in silence. The next beacon contained nothing at all. This is going to take a while...and it's boring The next jump was an asteroid field with a pirate who immediately attacked. Kr set the laser to auto fire, but it was clear this ship was no match for the pirate. Kr prepared to board with the teleporter. Once on the ship, the crew came to fight him. A zoltan entered and was killed easily enough, but exploded and caused quite a few injuries. A mantis and an engi came in next, the engi firing a blaster when it could get a good shot. The mantis was a tough fight, especially with Kr already having blaster and combat wounds. The mantis managed to slice one of Kr's legs and make a stab wound. Once the mantis was dead by decapitation, the engi was finished eaisily enough, but Kr thought he was being slow, almost sluggish. In the thrill of the fight, the challenge of his rivals, (did you notice that reference) he hadn't noticed the injuries. He noticed them now. He teleported back and limped for the medbay. It wouldn't heal him since it wasn't programmed for his bio signs, but there were still bandages. Kr, not even knowing if they were the right ones, grabbed a few and wrapped them around the numerous breaks in his outer shell. He didn't even notice it, but he started to drift off to sleep on the floor.

Quintet tried to do some sort of scan, but the scanners on the ship he had uploaded himself on had fried scanners. Any attempt to fix it would corrupt his scanning programs even further, and he needed them for later use. Instead, a simple camera system overview would have to do. Nothing else was corrupted, however, so it was better than nothing by far. The ship had sustained heavy damage so far, and Quintet needed to stop the ship before it came too close. Some simple access maneuvering allowed him to stop and lock the engines before the crew managed to lock-down the ship from autonomous input. No A.I. had a method of penetrating that sort of lock down, though it itself meant the entire ship ran on autopilot - if you don't make it work, it won't work, so that helped. Quintet's only option was to be ready to switch ships and sit and hope his crew wouldn't yet betray him. The mere thought of isolation made Quintet know he had to be less reckless or the crew would stop the ship and hand Quintet over, but he had no way of doing that, seeing as he ditched any sort of artificial emotion he had for raw power. All he knew was power and self-preservation, and in this situation they conflicted the most. He had to choose one over the other, otherwise they would both fall. There was no other way to go about this.
The federation ship pulled in closer.

Tabitha took a deep breath again. "This is Ensign Tabitha Mia reporting in. Glad you could help us out" she said to the Federation ship "We've been beset by pirates and criminal scumbags throughout this sector."

Targon sheepishly realize that the approaching ship was Federation and powered off the weapons. It wouldn't look good with them online and aimed.
"Well, I've got nothing better to do." He took the bag of parts Kr had given him and went into the room he was working in. "If you have any trouble talking to them, Tabitha, let me know." He said over the private comm, "I may know a few of the guys personally. And just to let you know, I recognize the ship as an Inspector X class, very efficient and brisk. You're going to feel guilty when they talk to you, but remember that you're not. Otherwise they might arrest you. They like to do that."

(If nobody minds, I'm just going to fill in as the federation ship.)

"Hello. Glad to see you here, there were multiple reports of a hostile enemy situation from civilians around the area. It looks taken care of, but the ship next to you seems to have suffered no damage. How is this possible?" The federation ship silently powered its scanners, hoping to scan the ship without notice. It slowly approached the in-tact yet immobile ship. "It looks like it locked itself down. Do you have mobile hacking installed on your ship? There are no outside signs of it." The scanners were swiftly used on the crew's ship, revealing nothing of immediate interest. "We're going to take a minute to inspect the wreckage while you get back to us on that. We're going to need some answers, by the way."
The federation ship approached the wreckage as Quintet tried his best to move over to the other ship, but he was trapped by the lock-down. He quickly looked everywhere for a way out, but finding nothing, managed to use old .txt files to get one message through the lock-down to his ship.
"Shoot. Please trust me, I've done this before."

"The enemy planned to board us, so we vented out our airlocks before they docked. Guess they didn't have proper sealing before it locked itself down" Tabitha quickly explained to the Captain. She then hit her hand against the communications console and noticed there was a bit of text explaining the status of the AI and also the face and identity of the Federation Captain on the ship.
"By the way, our sensors are currently on the fritz... I'm picking up your IFF as... I don't believe it" she said excitedly "The Captain Francis Cumberland? I haven't seen you in years! I guess you finally got that transfer you wanted after all!"
She continued "You taught me that recipe for those wonderful croissants. They were a real hit with the customers back home"

Kr was woken up suddenly by a large asteroid hitting the ship. He scrambled to his feet and immediately regretted it. His leg was still hurt from the mantis pirate. The bandages seemed to be doing something at least. Kr checked the ship and saw the asteroid was lodged in the ship, right in the shield system. The asteroids must have gotten through the shields. What luck, I'll have to take the pirate ship He teleported over to the pirate ship and prepared to jump to the next beacon. It wasn't until then that Kr noticed how quite it was without a crew. Only the hum of the engines in the background. He hesitated for a moment, then hit the Jump button.

(I just thought of this, what's our ship's name?)
