"That ship's trying to engage in combat! Get your weapons out, we've got an ordeal. I'll get the weapons online and begin firing. We have to destroy it quickly or else it'll really cripple us even more and we'll be sitting ducks, waiting for either federation guards or pirates. One will get us scrap, the other will sit around in an awkward silence as the FTL drive charges, and we need scrap."
Quintet scanned the other ship's maneuvers. They were planning to come in close.
"They're going to dock! I'll open the airlock they're headed for so it's oxygen drains before they get here. Should shut them down for the time being."
Quintet wheeled the repair drone into the broken room and started welding multiple things at once. This will be a perfect time to rig this how I want it to work, and this time, actually secure the makeshift gas canisters, he thought. He didn't know where any of the canisters were, but a quick item scan revealed one to be sitting on a shelf. He quickly grabbed it and continued to work.
Quintet thought over his plan. He knew that he had to avoid the Federation guards at all costs, but in case they did catch up, he had to have a way to either hide or fight, and Quintet already learned it's really hard to hide when you're not a physical object from some bad crew mutinies.

Tabitha placed a canister by the main airlock door - she had taken one of them from the shelf before heading out with her blaster.
"I recommend that we don't vent the airlocks. Place these poisonous canisters at the entrance, then threaten to release them" she said over the comms. "Or don't threaten and do it as soon as they enter. Just my suggestion"

"Look- It'll work. Just trust me. They'll dock and open the doors and begin to try to bash in our doors. You ready yourself in the rooms next to the airlock and fire relentlessly at them as soon as they open the door. I need those canisters. They're not something I can waste."
Quintet quickly heard the sound of boarders rushing the airlock and watched them through the cameras as they slowly suffocated, attempting to scream.
"And also, I needed that. It's quite satisfying. And, before you ask, yes, I'm a demented psychopath that enjoys the pain and slow suffering of my enemies. Or anyone, really. Prepare yourself by the airlock. They'll have busted through in a moment. I'll continue the repairs."

Re: One final chance: An FTL-RP
Tabitha took cover by the door and waited for it to open. As soon as it did however, she fired at the canister she had placed - the tank ruptured and quickly filled the room with poisonous gas. Then, through the vented-out airlock, the gas immediately rushed through and started choking out the life of the boarders who thought about putting on emergency respirators.
Meanwhile the chef moved back to the helm where the repair drone had just finished up repairs. Scorchmarks and shrapnel were still everywhere but the console was fixed.
"I don't trust the auto-pilot to make the best decisions" Tabitha said, looking at the repair drone. It seemed to be holding one of the canisters
"Ah, there's where I put it. Thanks Captain for keeping it secure" she said "Can I have it back? Preferably unopened and not attached underneath my console?"

"How about no? I hope you did your research, because I cleared a ship with a hacked repair drone. Without taking a scratch."
Quintet secured the canister and programmed the console to set it off it it were released and began to begin the final repairs on the room.
He knew that fighting off the guards would be easy if it weren't for their isolation devices, and as he was researching their programs, a ship by a nearby beacon showed signs of a charging FTL. A quick I.D. check showed what Quintet had dreaded. He had hoped to avoid this, but the combination of the FTL being overclocked and needing to cool down and the piloting system being blown up, the guards had caught up.
"Look. What's about to happen may just blow over or may change your life from officer to wanted criminal in seconds. If you help me, this may just turn out well for all of us. So.. just trust me and we'll be able to keep on doing what we were sent out to do. Is this clear?"

(RP OFF)
Well now, this is starting to get out of hands.
Dyno101 I know you have started this whole RP thing, but seriously. You need to calm down a bit.
You are playing a bit of a super player here.
You are the BOSS. You can kill anyone(other players, any enemy, all stations we encounter, any ship we meet) in just 1 post.
Whenever you need it - you can spawn in poisonous gas canisters al over the ship(and then they are present on every ship in the galaxy).
When players disagree with that and RP their way into finding and removing those canisters, you suddenly spawn in an ATOM BOMB(really?!) right on our ship.
In some way this is somewhat fun and chalanging, because the rest of the crew starts to think of a way how to get arround the new threats.
But really this will go well untill we get into direct confrontation.
You sometimes start to get disrespectfull towards other players:
Otherwise the whole story will turn from an RP to a fanfic that you will be writing yourself.
All players try to play along with all your ideas and plot twists. I just want to ask you to play with everyone, not against ueveryone.
Because I already see the signs of direct confrontations starting:
Tabitha asked Sp to drain all power from the pilot room to power down everything in there, and then she removed the canister and threw it out of the airlock.
And then you will find a way to do something bad to us, and we will do something bad to you, and then the whole game will end.
Again - let's play together, not against eachother.

((Ask Sp to drain all the power? Hmm, good idea. I'll keep it in mind
))
Tabitha sighed "I don't know who's side I'm supposed to be on now with all this rubbish that's happening with our psychotic AI Captain... and the Rebels."
She thought about jumping ship and surrendering to the guards. Perhaps cite a botched neural uplink...
Nah they wouldn't fall for it. Besides, I must carry out the mission in the end if I'm to see my home and my restaurant in safe hands again... she thought to herself, putting her hands on the controls, I wonder how that Zoltan is holding up...

Thank you! I'm no professional story-writer or role-player, In fact, I'm quite bad at it. But I have a different view of Quintet being his player.
I view Quintet as this broken A.I. that's thrown away any sort of empathy or living emotion he had for the sake of more power and more possibilities. The problem is, he's got a few secrets and It's my job to hint at them but keep them hidden. (You probably already know all of them because i suck at that kind of thing.)
Thank you so much for the advice! And for flat-out participating. I never thought i would actually make an ongoing Roleplay.

Re: One final chance: An FTL-RP
Quintet was quite relieved. He knew he would be destroyed if he was found and it wasn't something he could think about.
"I'm going to program myself onto the enemy ship. I won't be able to contact you until the guard leaves. In fact, I'll probably hop around the ships here until the guard leaves, just to be sure. I need you to come up with something to say that basically says you got rid of me. And don't think about jumping away to ditch me, because I will find you, for one, and for two, having no ship-board A.I. means to autopilot, No opening airlocks, and may more hindering loss of features. I'm only co-operating like this once for my own good, so don't ask me about it, okay?"
Quintet began to duplicate his current self over to the enemy ship and delete the original on board his ship. I can only run away for so much longer. I can use this chance to study the scanners and build some sort of counterattack or deflection..

Thank you understanding.dyno101 wrote:Thank you! I'm no professional story-writer or role-player, In fact, I'm quite bad at it. But I have a different view of Quintet being his player.

Thank you so much for the advice! And for flat-out participating. I never thought i would actually make an ongoing Roleplay.
And here are some more advice that I think will help make the RP even better:
1. Do not make you char logicaly invincible/near-invincible. Otherwise this char can basically do anything he wants all the time, with no consequence.
Being able to duplicate himself to any ship in the vicinity(and afaiu any other console using the long range transmitters) makes him near impossible to destroy.
Since the story is already ongoing - then perhaps try to make this ability as something that you can use only once or quite rarely, or something that you would rather not use because when you do use it - you loose something(memory, life time, anything else.)
2. Try to make your character a liitle more realistic, limit his possibilities.
Example: Being able to perform complete scans of everything on the ship he is installed on to is ok.
Being able to control all the drones is a good idea too, because then you can participate in combats, onboard our ship with anti personell bot, and also on enemy ships with a boarding drone.
But being able to scan and gain access on all systems of all ships and stations is kinda OP. Especially if it's accesibble as a 1 post action.
If there is actually need to have that access for the sake of the plot then I would suggest to RP it as something that can be done with a complex action chain
Ex: Guys If we can somehow boost power output to our comms system then I can try to hack their O2 system and suffocate them.(Or perhaps this can be your RP use of the Hacking system)
The harder you make things for your own char - the more interesting the RP gets for you.
3. Do not make any facts about someone else's char.(unless you've agreed about this in advance with that player through private messages.)
Example: Result of the scan showed that Sp had a third eye in his arm pit.
4. Every time you want to make some action(especially if you plan to have a chain of actions) try to anticipate how other players will react to it and what will they do. How they might change the outcome of your action with their own action.
Ex: Leaving the ship and threatening players to not run away while you're not on board because "I will find you and kill you". Will most probably not be accepted by other players as - "OK Sir! We will stay here and wait for your return!" They will most probably just say shit this is my chance to dodge this crazy threatening guy, and just run.
Instead try to ask kindly, Like: "Shit! The feds have found me! I'm going to try to hide from the them on another ship, please don't leave without me."
I'm pretty positive that players will not leave someone that is in need of their help.
And looking at this from a selfish AI point of view, it also works, because this AI even as it is so selfish and emotionless, it is very smart and uderstands that to get what he needs he should play it right. If he goes all - "I'ma gona kill you all beaches" he will not get what he needs. So he plays it smart and says what the other living meat(metal/energy/chitin/boulder/slime) saks want to hear.
If you have any other questions or want an advice on how to play out something right - you can always ask in PM

P.S.
Sorry for the long posts.
