Romero thought to himself
"Why did I do it?
Why do I care?
I really shouldn't.
We're all just dots. Insignificant.
We all want to be something we're not. And we all go to lengths to achieve that.
We're all slightly separated from reality, just sitting in our worlds. Separated from the reality of our actions.
Played out in the constant state of deniability.
Without a care in the world.
Even though we're all monsters, and parasites."

"I'm confused. What did the station ever do to us?" Translator asked himself and Interceptor. "Because if anything, the Federation assigned us to a ship and we repayed this honour by blowing up their space station. How does that make them the monsters and we're in the right?"
Maybe I should just jump at the next station and rejoin Vulture Fleet. At least things were less confusing there. Some scrap you can eat and some you don't... he thought to himself, it'd destroy cultural relics and artworks but at least I know who's in the right there.
He started working on something in the cargo hold with the boxes of scrap. He cracked open several vials of nanomachines and a quantum processor databank, shaping them together... Monsters... who are the real monsters?

Re: [RP] Adventures of an A.I.
Romero walked over to the Translator, standing over him.
"We're all monsters. They'll do and have done far worse then what we just did. The Federation does worse.
You know what I've heard command say when they told me to shoot people? 'Expendable assets' or 'Casualties' or fuck I heard one say 'I COULDN'T CARE LESS!'.
Welcome to the Federation.
Where you leave your sanity at the door and trade it for a rifle.
Where you trade your family for PTSD.
Where you gun down thousands of people because 'We can't be bothered to care.'
We aren't in the right, we made a call.
I made a call."

Translator found it rather humorous when the Human tried to make himself taller in front of the big, metal-eating bird.
"So why are you with the Federation and not with your Human-loving friends in the Rebellion? What have they done that's worse than what the Federation did to you?" Translator asked, raising to full height, making him more like a Rockman in size.
I'm pretty sure he's confusing the Federation with some black ops mercenary group. Because I'm pretty sure the Galactic Federation isn't all that bad.

You can hit "Edit" and then delete posts I think
-----------------
"Apart from uniting the galaxy and various alien species from discord, dealing with numerous pirate gangs and providing infrastructure for impoverished colonies, the Federation has done nothing" Translator listed "Or was that all propaganda for suckers like me?"

Apparently the board gods decided not I can't get rid of it. Whoops.

"Other then gunning down thousands because they don't agree with their ideology? Forcing their ships to destroy rebel relief vessels, because peace isn't profitable?
Send out millions of soldiers into the battlefield and keep sending the survivors back until nothing's left?
What don't they do?
You know what I've seen?
42390 soldiers. All dead. You know why? Because some Federation higher-up couldn't, for once in his life, take the responsibility to tactically retreat.
Die gruesome deaths because he JUST HAD TO grab his laptop before he could hobble happily to the evac ship.
You know what I remember?
50 Federation soldiers, hung up because they gunned down two civilians who stole rations to feed their family. You know what I was doing that day? Shooting people and hauling corpses. Keeping them well in sight of their families and friends so they don't try it again.
You know what happened once?
I ended up responsible for 3 soldiers now K.I.A.
Captain Martin A. Walker. Age 32, squad leader of 2nd squad. 34th Company. He leaves behind a wife, brother and 2 children. I shot him for insubordination. Not like that was the case, I was the one telling him to do all that horrible shit.
Private John D. Adams. Age 29, tactical rifleman of 2nd squad. 34th Company. He leaves behind a healthy family, with so much to live for. A+ Student, was drafted. I shot him for treason, for speaking out.
Corporal Terrance, E. Romero. Age 23, active scout of the 2nd squad. 34th Company. I leave behind a wife and child. Drafted. The silent one, who didn't like anyone at the base. Got shot twice, lost 4 wives, 1 to the rebels, 2 to orbital bombardment, 1 to divorce. Suffers from PTSD and severe trauma from multiple events in the past, several involving treasonous acts for quote 'Blood and glory' end-quote.
And what about you?
You said Translators are destroyed and re-purposed.
You exist at the expense of others. And you think we're the monsters.
The Feds couldn't care less about their soldiers. We are forced into battle because if we didn't, we'd be shot.
Freedom is for the weak, glory is for the forced.
I'd rather leave behind my wife and son because I CAN'T WALK AWAY FROM THIS!
I TRIED!
IT DIDN'T WORK!
I WENT BACK! AND YOU KNOW WHAT I GOT IN RETURN FOR MY SERVICE?!
THIS CAPE AND SCARF! THIS SHITTY EXCUSE FOR A HELMET.
AND APPARITIONS OF WALKER AND ADAMS, LIKE THAT ONE OVER THERE!"

Re: [RP] Adventures of an A.I.
"Rebel relief ships?" Translator asked. "You do know that they only serve Rebel colonies. Humans like you claim to be the victims but what about the Zoltan? The Engies? Where's their relief from the Rebels who bomb them from orbit, just because they're not lucky to have been born as a carbon-based lifeform?"
He continued "You might as well join the Rebels since all I'm hearing YOU whine about is Humans killing Humans. So Humans were shot because they wanted to help other Humans? Did you hear about those Humans who were shot by Rebels, because the Humans were helping out a Zoltan monastery who just wanted to live in peace? Or how about an Engi Databank? All deleted because the Engies were not useful being accounting software and not war machines."
"As I said before, I'm a metal-eating scavenger. Why am I the only reasonable being on this ship? Our fleets destroyed entire planets made of metal just because we were hungry" he concluded "The only issue I see with the Federation at this moment is that they assigned a shellshocked war veteran to a one-of-a-kind vessel. Need I remind you about those Rebel automated ships?"
He turned around and went back to what he was working on. "By the way, I killed an Engi virus. Not because the Federation told me, but because it annoyed me. Don't make me regret doing it again to an annoying Human. I can rebuild machines but organics is another question"
-----------
I feel like I'm running Translator "out of character" and I should have someone else doing this sort of ranting.
Perhaps a Mantis warrior, because Mantises
Can we encounter a Robert Smith perhaps?

Interceptor was silent, thinking to himself. Why am I allowing this to happen...? Hundreds-maybe even thousands- just died because we needed the scrap... I can just imagine the rant Jessie would have prepared for me at this point... He sighs a little.
