Downloaded v1.3 and AE update. Neither worked
Using SMM v1.9.1 and FTL v1.6.9. Tried to load with and without SMM mods, alphabetical and not.
I want to play this ship
So the problem was simple: it has to do with FTL update 1.6.1. As of this version, FTL does not support interlaced PNG images.
This is what appeared after I validated the mod with SMM:

No Problems
So, it's just a matter of opening GIMP and change all these images
