Could be...

Excellent. The next release will definitely work for you.
You ran into the Engi/Fed/Lanius victory bug, wherein you were just too good at the game to cheat.
Zelnik wrote: I can't seem to get this editor to work either... need my ae prof file as well?
Yes, please.
The more varied samples I can collect, the better.

@Zelnik
You seem to have started the editor, forgotten to
open existing "ae_prof.sav", then overwritten your profile with a text
dump .
What you saved as "ae_prof.sav" is not actually a profile. You need to delete it.
Normal usage is as follows:
Play the game at least once to create "ae_prof.sav".
Quit the game and start the editor.
In the Profile tab (as opposed to Saved Game), click open and choose "ae_prof.sav".
Make any desired changes.
Click save to overwrite your "ae_prof.sav". (make a backup first if you want)
The
dump button just saves a human-readable text spoiler
describing the profile.

If you provide a problematic "continue.sav", I can study it and learn what novel situation you got your ship into.

.
v20 has been released:
Fixed profile read error when there are victories by Engi/Fed/Lanius ships.
Added a WIP notice when run the first time.
Added pastable bug reports that embed the problematic files in question.

When I try to download the v20 download .zip file. I try to open it and it says that the application was not found, same thing for v19 and v18.
EDIT: I used firefox instead of chrome and that somehow fixed it

Are you saying you can't open the zip itself?
Install
7-Zip , which lets you right-click any zip file to extract its contents.

If I try to open the my continue.sav in the saved game tab it gives me an error or if it does open I can only access the dump sub tab, the other tabs like playership are greyed out. HELP
