Tabitha heard the doors open behind her. It's that strange Zoltan again... she thought to herself, with a hint of annoyance and with a bigger hint of impending terror in her thoughts and expression.
"What can I..." she started when the console flickered and showed the location of the ship's atomic bomb.
"Oh... I see" she said, again glancing at the self-destruct controls and then at the "other self destruct."

Tabitha then said "Thanks. I'm not going to say basic training taught me how to tear apart a nuclear bomb though. So perhaps Arkangel could do it as it seems the Lanius are good at that sort of thing."
She wondered what the AI was talking about with how the mission was going. I signed up to do something about the Rebellion. Not to become the same monsters they are, she thought, Either the Federation is falling politically and people are adopting Rebel ideas... or the AI is lying.

"Actually, that's one thing I can say yes to. Just make sure you don't blown it up in the process. I'll kill the Federation base's communications systems until the bomb's been disabled. Move quickly, however. I can't let the Federation delve too far into my source code or It's lights out for me. Also, if we want to do this safely, we have to do it where we have somewhere else to put it. The bomb is designed to detect a vacuum and detonate immediately so that we can't just throw it off the ship. We're going to have to opt for a repair station next jump, so that if anyone messes up, we're not the ones being vaporized. And, yes, we're still in Sector 8."

Targon sighed with pleasure, and stood back from his creation in progress. "I'm proud." He stated happily.

All I need is more parts. I wonder if Arkangel knows how to morph a drone wing. He might not care if I plug him into a computer to help the process out... I'll go ask.
The dark blue Mantis scurried out of the room and found the Lanius. "Hey hey, Arkangel, my big metallic buddy! Would you honestly mind if you could help a good friend out and I- plug you into a.. erm..." The Lanius was giving him the death glare.
"Never mind..." Targon skittered off, casting glances behind his shoulder at Arkangel's ticked face. Dang it. Oh well, I guess I can wait for other parts in the next salvage. As long as no one goes into the room, I'm fine. Actually, I'll just move in there, just in case people think they can 'help'. He ran to his room and started moving his items.

The scrap pile grew larger as Kr gathered up all the broken electronics and metal laying around. They all looked the same to him. Just then the blue mantis ran in screeching about the parts. He grabbed some out of Kr's claws and ran out again with all the scrap. There's definitely something wrong with that mantis. At least I don't have to load it all. Sp then asked him to bring back the engi body. "Aye, but wouldn't it's nanobots have repaired it by now if it wasn't fixable?" He took the body in his claws and walked back to the ship. Kr entered the FTL drive room and dropped the engi on the floor. "You'd better be able to fix this thing, cause I don't want to do repairs anymore." He left Sp and headed to the pilot's station and said to Tabitha: "When are we going to eat, I'm hungry. You can cook real meat, right"

"For the moment, I doubt I'd be able to get anything good out of the replicators" Tabitha said, pointing to the replicator behind her "I can't even get a decent brew of coffee and it won't even dispense me coffee beans."
She sighed "Once we find a place to rest, I will make the most delicious meal fit for everyone!"
Even if I have to break into a diner or pub and commandeer their kitchens, she thought to herself.

"Yeah and it'll have real meat as well... if they have it in the freezer"

A mantis came into the room carrying the Engi body.
Sp could feel the Engi life source energy signature very clearly now.
- Yes.. Yes this is good, thank you.
Kr: "You'd better be able to fix this thing, cause I don't want to do repairs anymore."
Fix it? Sp thought. This is an interesting thought... Yes... Indeed.. This is a good idea. Perhaps I should try to do that...
- I will try to do it. He said to the mantis.
He reached his hand to wards the Engi body and streams of energy rushed into it's head piece.
After about half an hour Sp's hand started to glow very brightly and the Engi's right hand moved an inch.
Then the glow quickly faded.
- Ahh... Good... Yes... Some of them are still functional.
- But this will take quite some time...
- Indeed...
Sp put both of his hands on the Engi's head piece and started the Reformatting procedure.

Kr was walking back to the cargo bay when he remembered something. He diverted his course and headed to the crew quarters. He opened the door to Dragon's quarters and went in. There was no one there. "Has anyone seen Dragon? He isn't in his quarters and he hasn't said anything for hours." Maybe he's at his station Kr headed to the weapons room.
