Cheers for the info, KartoFlane.
I downloaded SMM and did exactly what I did before, and checked off the disable fleet mod. Then when I opened FTL it crashed and won't open now. Perhaps I used an outdated .ftl file?
EDIT: I can open the game if I select it from among my Applications, but the mod doesn't work in that case.

- Before switching to SMM, did you patch with no mods selected to return to normal? (That bug in GMM only prevented it from running the game. By that point the mod was applied, and would stay in effect until un-patched. Even when you ran the game yourself.)
.
- In SMM, patch with no mods selected. Assuming the first bullet point, you should be back to vanilla FTL.
Let the mod manager try to run the game. Does the game start?
If not, paste the contents of "modman-log.txt" here between [ code ] tags.
Try running the game yourself to confirm that runs normally.

Be sure you're running the same game that's being modded, of course.
In the Terminal and log, there'll be the line: "Using FTL dats path from config: ..."

GMM is denied access to stuff inside Program Files. Run it as admin and it'll work.
However, GMM is obsolete and is not being developed anymore. It's better to switch over to
SMM.

I don't understand how this coding stuff works.
I've installed four different Pythons, all of them being version 2's, but when I open modman it still tells me there's no supported version on my system and when I double click main it flashes this command and disappears.
Help?

GMM's development has stopped, and it's better to use its successor,
Slipstream Mod Manager, instead.

Use Slipstream Mod Manager, this is no longer being developed.
