I haven't really thought about how they got off. A landing craft seems reasonable.

Kyrie woke up in the medbay, Bren and Jake already gone. She got up from the bed and stood up next to it. 80 year old medical tech's not that bad. She tested every muscle and found it satisfactory. "I don't know what we would do without you, Lux. I'd probably be dead." Kyrie walked over to the door and in that distance found that her shoes were melted from the fire. I hope my others survived. Everything seemed back to normal aside from the soot that covered pretty much everything.

Jake come over the half broken comms and announced they were taking a trip to the planet below, and to take supplies for a day. Kyrie liked the thought of that and ran to get some stuff prepared. Fortunately the bad of things she had taken from the academy was water proof and fire proof up to 1000 kelvin. That was the reason she had bought it for this mission. She grabbed it and headed for the landing pod.

Well if you do have crew on the enemy ship and no working teleporter, you do find emergency shuttles, even if it's a fighter craft you're on

"Don't mention it Kyrie" Lux beamed. She then heard the announcement about "shore leave" and saw how seemingly everyone was heading to the shuttlecraft.
Don't they know anything about shipboard regulations? Me and my father would point this out on every episode of Captain Awesome... she thought to herself, You don't just send all of the ship's crew on an away mission.
"Sorry Captain, my... I'll remain onboard the ship and get things cleaned up around here while you go on your adventure. Please be careful and don't hurt yourselves too much. After all, what happens if we get attacked and no one is onboard?"

I am unclear how crew exits the spacecraft when needed. How do they go to a planets surface? In FTL, there are a few events that require the crew going down to the surface. (Like the 'Madman' event) Eh, well I suppose I'll just make something up. It'd be unrealistic to land the star ship...

Jake took another scan. Yes, this beacon was empty. Save for the huge crystal-blue planet floating below them. Jake stared as its lush green surface and sparkling oceans, with a few white puffs drifting across the surface.

Jake thought about the mission as he watched the planet twinkling below him. A beacon was only recently placed here. This planet is unimportant - nothing remarkable. There's no reason for anyone to go here... And scans suggest no one has. Jake thought.

As Jake stared at the planet, he thought about Don.

"I always put the lives of my crew first" Jakes father had once said. Then Jake thought about the fires. "Second, comes the needs and wellfare of me' ship." His father had said.

Welp, look at me now, Dad. One of my crew is dead, and I lit my ship on fire in the middle of an uncharted nebula.

"Third, is the morale and emotion of my crew," Jakes father said.

Wait! I haven't blown that yet! That's what we need. We're just a bunch of kids stuck in the middle of nowhere. One of us got decapitated, and the rest of us were almost burned alive. As Captain, it's my duty to protect my crew, not just physically - but also emotionally.

Jake activated the com, "This is Jake to all hands. We are taking the landing pod to the surface of this planet, for some fun. It's not a mission - It's some time to relax and reflect on... all that has happened. The ship is fully operational, and we deserve some rest after... our loss. It's not required, but recommended. Meet at the landing pod in one hour. Bring surface supplies for 1 Earth-day. Be sure to notify me if you choose to stay behind, though I don't recommend it!"

Well it looks like I've missed out on a whole damn lot JK I blame myself for not checking on the thread, you'd think I would've learned my lesson from sunday

WOL had, nothing to say. He could say without doubt that this was the second most stressful day he's ever had, not only had they been caught as soon as they jumped to their first beacon, but the beacon immediately after, contained a slug raider lying in wait just to make his day a little more brighter.

If that wasn't enough, they attempted to hack the 02 system, which WOL had to manually prevent under the threat of asphyxiation, and IMMEDIATELY after their whole ship was set ablaze, yes, he was no doubt the luckiest engi in the entire Galaxy.

At this point, he was 90% dead, and 110% tired. After suffering a fair amount of burns, during an attempt to put out the fires, WOL marched towards the medbay in order to get them healed. When WOL entered, he saw his captain, Jake, passed out on one of the medical units, Bren, on one of the beds, and lux, tending to the wounded.

Normally he would've shown a large degree of concern, however, he just couldn't muster enough strength to care right now. He shuffled robotically towards an unoccupied healing unit and strapped himself in, he waited in silence until his wounds we're finished recovering, and shuffled back towards the Engine room.

After some amount of time, he assumed that the rest of the crew had recovered, as they jumped onwards to the next beacon. Sensors detected no ships, which he then breathed out a sigh of relief. The captain announced over the damaged intercom, that the crew take time off for a full earth day, on a seemingly hospitable planet.

As much as WOL would like to go explore on, God knows where, he would much prefer the option of resting onboard a safe and comfortable ship instead. WOL walked towards the medbay, "Tell the captain that I'll be spending my downtime sleeping it off" he said to a passing crew member. Not even bothering to wait for a response, WOL walked in the med bay, and chose the most comfortable bed to lie in.

WOL lied on the bed and tried to make himself as comfortable as he possibly could. Eventually, he drifted into sleep, and a red dot on the side of his head indicated that he was currently on standby.

As Kyrie was walking toward the landing craft, she passed WOL who muttered that he was going to stay before entering the medbay. "Um... ok. You sure you wan-" She was cut off by the door closing. Alright then. Jake and Bren were already at the shuttle when she got there. "WOL said he isn't coming. Said he's going to sleep here." The small craft launched soon after.

Kyrie watched the planet the whole way down. It's bright blue and green reminded her of earth. I wonder if we'll ever go back there. This may be the closest we get.

Lux informed Jake that she would not be coming to the surface. He was extremely surprised, as she was usually the most fun-loving person in the group. Setting foot on an unexplored and safe planet was right up her ally. "'You sure? I'm pretty sure WOL is staying behind, he'll signal us if something goes wrong. This ship will automatically notify us if there's a ship on sensors. It'll be a good time to relax after all that's happened."

"Its ok, I'll make sure you are alright' he said holding his right hand up and some electrical sparks came out of it (My idea of Zoltan fighting is releasing energy out at a target)

"Sides I think we should use the buddy system, no one should be alone if we can help it"

It didn't quite contain the supplies for a long journey but it wasn't like she packed much on the heist in the first place. "Still, don't hurt yourselves too much. I wasn't able to swipe much from the infirmary before we started this crazy plan"
Besides, I think I'll need some open space to clear my head. Although if we get attacked by giant alien ants while we're down there...

That needs to be an event, I mean we got giant alien spiders why not ants

"Great! I knew this would be a good opportunity for you," Jake said, as he proceeded for the landing craft. Everyone was inside and ready-to-go. There was a loud thud as they detached from the ship, followed by the hiss of thrusters as they navigated toward the planet.

The rumble was light at first, but quickly built into a full-blown space-quake. My father always said how he hated re-entry. Or, well, in this case - entry. Since we're the first ones to make our way through this atmosphere. He thought.

Jake couldn't get over the fact that they were the first ones here, ever. It was such a rush - the feeling of discovery. The excitement. The danger. They were the first people on this ENTIRE world. And ENTIRE planet, untouched. He would be the first person to ever breath THIS air. To ever walk on THIS soil. No matter how history continued, no one could ever say that they were the first on this planet, it would always be him - no matter what. Even though this planet was boring and insignificant, he would still be the first on it.

There was a loud whooshing sound as the landing thruster ignited, and a clang as the landing gear deployed. Slowly and steadily, they touched down. Jake yanked open the door, the light blinding him. (There were no windows in the landing pod) He hopped down onto the sand, squinting in the daylight. As his eyes slowly adjusted, Jake looked around - the warm sun tingling against his skin.

It was the most beautiful thing he'd seen in his entire life.

"...so a beach here, grass there" he said pointing further up, 'A few trees, and weird horse like creatures. Seems like a decent vacation spot' he said as the creatures just seems to look at them for a moment before going back to eating
