"Yes, the power use is quite a bit... Which reminds me, I've been wanting to upgrade my reactor core to make more power. A ship with only one layer of shields hit with a Dual Laser followed by a Glaive Beam is a deadly combination."

"I heard Translator can do reactors. I only do shields." Replied Slava

"If so, I'll ask him later to see what he can do."

"Why am I here again?"

"Maybe we'll get boarded by Rebels or something. Then well need you." Slava replied

"I feel amazingly expendable."

Translator suddenly appeared behind Romero "Expendable? I was created with the purpose of processing languages. When the Fleets are in hibernation, that's pretty much a useless role to play. Most Translators are destroyed and repurposed" he explained.

Then he opened his beak wide "And you know what? We are all perfectly fine with that. Us Lanius do not fear death like you carbon-based lifeforms do."

He tapped a nearby wall and said "I haven't found any Engi spies onboard or any computers where a Virus might be located. I also took a look at the reactor core. Some work needs to be done there but I can't upgrade it without some scrap materials and we're nearly out. I could use some of Interceptor's hull for the upgrades but we don't seem that desperate."

"That's some good news... And we can gather scrap later on, like if we salvage scrap from a destroyed enemy ship."

"if we have enough scrap, I will upgrade the shields to have a second layer, so we aren't so vulnerable." Said Slava "Hey, Translator. At least the Lanius Fleet let you live. You should see what Kazaaak does to uneccesary people."

Damn, why did I bring that up? Slava thought to himself

"And you know what? I'm not okay with that. I'm not a robot. And finally I do not want to die or be destroyed.
