Huh, that is odd, it's never happened to me. I'll keep a look out for it, either way.gearsofcandy wrote:Cool thanks, Btw it might be a bug as I loaded the ship file again, and the manning tool somehow decided to work.

Not yet, nope. It's already fixed in my build, but I'm still working on some other stuff to include in the next update. For now you can work around that by including the file manually.

Re: [Tool] Superluminal2 beta 9
hey im not sure if this is a bug or something but when i save the ship, with floors, thumnail, and shield images selected, save it as a .ftl, and run it in slipstream mod manager, the floor image, thumbnail image, and shield image dont appear. when i reload it in superluminal2, the images for the floor , shield, and thumbnail are reset and cleared, but the hull and cloak stay. is this a bug or something else?

Yup, that's a bug that I accidentally introduced in beta9. It's been fixed in 2.0.1 beta.
Speaking of which, here it is. Apart from the shield/floor/thumbnail image fix, I've added automated database reloading to help with the editor exporting corrupt images. Also added keybind modification via Settings menu, and reordering of objects (rooms/mounts/gibs) via the Ship Overview window.
Next on list is artillery or undo system. Probably the former.

Code: Select all
2.0.1 beta:
- Fixed a minor code screw-up that prevented shield, floor and thumbnail images from being saved.
- Fixed some stations being visible when they should not be
- Fixed the corrupt image "bug" -- the editor now detects when you've installed mods with SMM while the editor was running, and now automatically reloads the database
- Added keybind modification to the Settings dialog
- Rooms, weapon mounts and gibs can now be reordered via the Ship Overview window -- simply drag them.

Re: [Tool] Superluminal2 beta 10
thanks for the update! however it appears i have stumbled upon another problem: when i try to install the new superluminal, it prompts me to find data.dat, but when i double click on data.dat, i think it errors and closes out. i deleted the old installation, so i dont know what it could be. any help?

D'oh. There's a small error that will cause the editor to crash when there's no config file created yet... Gonna upload a fixed version soon.
For better or for worse, there's also a slight bug which causes the version recognition code to think that 9 is bigger than 10... For this reason, beta10 will instead become 2.0.1 beta
About time, too

Re: [Tool] Superluminal 2.0.1 beta
hey im not sure if this is my fault or not, but im trying to create this new ship. it has everything set, the weapons, crew, stuff like that, but and in superluminal it looks fine, but when i place the saved .ftl file in slipstream, activate it, patch it, and start faster than light, the ship looks like a big black rectangle. is it because i may have used the wrong image size? or maybe because i resized original ingame gib parts to create the image? help if you can! thanks in advance.

@123nick
That may be either due to you not giving the ship a floor image, or because one of the images you've used is not 32-bit PNG. In the latter case, you'll need to resave the image(s) as 32-bit PNG.
