I believe the Crystal ships don't get a C type because you'll just ignore any bonus stuff and board with your OP crystal dudes and win the whole game without ever taking any damage anyway.

I would really love to see:
1) balancing in some of the old ships. Some are waaay too OP (like Crystal B), and some of them need an enormous amount of luck, no matter how skilled the player is.
2)improvement in enemy AI. If I have one shield and the enemy two different lasers, it should shoot with both of them at the same time. In early game I often run to many situasions where after the first volleys the enemy shoots I know there are plenty of time before it's weapons 'sync' properly again.
And about Lanius:
if they are *completely* mechanical shouldn't they be immune to antibio-weaponry?
Since they are robotic they could be weaker to stun and ion could be harmful to them as well as systems?
And maybe Slugs could use Mindcontrol system more effectively than any other race due to their mental capabilities?
Event idea:
A pirate captain has a bounty on his head. Now, every time you encounter a pirateship you could scan their ships signature to see does it match the ship in the bounty (a small percentual chance). If so, you would have a great payment for defeating that ship, even greater if you take the captain alive.
