Perhaps you will enjoy a video I saw of someone who played the whole game through with his entire ship vented from start to finish. Quite a lot of medbay micro required for that one.SgtFrog wrote:I wonder what it would be like if you had 3 Sys-Repair drones on Engi Cruiser B. Just leave the entire ship (except for the pilot area) always depressurized and just let the drones fix the damage done by boarders before they suffocate and die. Only problem is, if your Drone Control room is bombed, you're screwed!
Oh yeah, I know how that feels. I defeated the first part of the Flagship with a single Beam Drone as my only source of damage. Yes, I had level 2 Shields, level 2 Cloaking, 40% evasion, and a Gold-level gunner controlling Ion Bursts Mk. I and II stunlocking their shields, but it still worked!zeek wrote:I used to love the bust laser mk II the most, but I've since changed my mind. I love the ion burst mk II best now. It's the one weapon that guarantees you will be able to get past an enemies shields. Then all you need is some other form of damage and you can win any battle if you survive long enough. I've had the chance to dual wield them as well and that's just crazy fun. Take down shields and weapons and sit back laughing at your poor defenseless enemy.
I'll take any 2 ions over any 4-power (and most 3-power) weapons any day, except the Ion II of coursezeek wrote:I used to love the bust laser mk II the most, but I've since changed my mind. Wow. Just wow. What I meant was depressurizing everything except the cockpit, but he depressurized everything INCLUDING the cockpit. If he didn't have the Engi A healing augment, he probably would have died fairly quickly.zeek wrote:Perhaps you will enjoy a video I saw of someone who played the whole game through with his entire ship vented from start to finish. Yeah I was seriously impressed. I didn't watch the whole video but it's pretty amazing. I feel like someday I should try it, but I never have the nerve to give it a shot. Can you imagine if the enemy shot a boarding drone over? I think that would be a disaster. No way you can fight that thing without any O2. You'd get like one hit in before you need to get back to the medbay.SgtFrog wrote:Wow. Just wow. The easiest run I ever had in the DA-SR12 I got an Ion Blast and a Ion Blast II, and the Stealth Weapons augment. I strolled through the game without a care in the universe.dirtyfool wrote:Still pretty new here, but I have to say, the combo of Glaive Beam and Ion Bust II is awesome. As long as you can hold your defense long enough for the beam to charge, it is tons of fun. Hammer the shields down to 0 while the beam charges, and then watch it cripple multiple systems.
