The artillery beam is actually a very simple fix. Although its not listed as a weapon on the weapon bar, the Vindicator Beam uses a weapon mount, however, your ship only has three mounts so the game is assuming that the 4th weapon mount is at (0,0). Just give your ship a 4th weapon mount at the center of your ship and set it's slide to "No".

setting slide to "no" means that it will not move when it is powered.
